LSVtec --> turbo.. reliable ?

i farted

dude reading is fucking mental. Way back when there were NO LS VTEC CONVERSION KITS. That means no premade kits containing all of the fittings , lines , adapters and whatever else you need in the right size you need them in. Since my friend lacked the necessary tools to do the conversion is his garage , and information on the setup was scarce , he decided to do the smart thing and save his money until he was able to afford to prep the block. He then went to a well know machine shop showed them the article and discussed with them where he wanted to have the oil line installed , the best way to do it , and how much it would set him back. Realizing that going out and buying a drill press and potentially ruining cylinder head in the process was a bad idea , again being that limited info was around at the time , he left the head work to the pros.

I had posted earlier that he put 80,000 miles on his ls/vtec and the block and head both had unknown original miles. It was running perfectly when he sold the car.

I would LOVE to see the hard FACTUAL data you are pulling from that says MOST ls/vtecs are “garage jobs”. Some people have money. Other people are good at saving money. Not everyone settles on “slappin’ 2 of dem der MoTaRz 2 GEt-R!” and seeing if they will run. But with your “1 year in the scene” I shouldnt even be questioning you.

lol, i have never heard of getting an LS/v professionally done. Im sure honda would love to put ur golden eagle head gasket and ARP conversion studs in…

and like everyone else says, including me

Buy a vtec motor if u want vtec.

^^^not true…built ls/vtec if done right will run forever…ive built 4 engines by hand…if done right any engine will run along time…like the junkman said if done right anything will run. thats all that matters IF ITS DONE RIGHT!!!

Compton, tell that to omniman and the thousands who now run ls/vtec daily. A motor is only as good as its builder, whether it is a hybrid, or a non-vtec, or a factory vtec version. If you speak from experience of many motors that you have built, then you can say ls/vtec is unreliable … until then what you are stating is merely your own personal opinion.

my integra had an ls/vtec in it when i went to look at it. the previous owner had a shop throw the motor together with the stock bottem end. i didn’t have the cash to pay for an ls/v and itr tranny tho, so i bought the shell.

ls/vtec/t built 11psi crome. 1yr and still running strong.

Im just going to stick with LS turbo, really dont want any complications later. its hard to find a good mechanic to do the build out here i got one offering but i just dont think so…

:roll: yeah then since you never heard of it it must not happen. Are golden eagle and ARP paying you for the ads? I know its hard to grasp this concept but the engine my friend built used all oem parts as there was no such thing as a golden eagle LS/vtec head gasket way back when.

im going to have a shop install my turbo kit since they could do it a hell of alot faster then me and tune it :dance:

I have frankenstien set up with t3/t4 turbo and boosting 12 to 18 lbs with no problems. I do have low cp piston and stock rev limiter. (vtec kicks in @ 5000rpm) Had the set up for about a year now. Just need a mechanic that will take his time an do it right the first time. All new gsr water pump, oil pump, bearing, forge pistons, rings, block gaurd ect…

Are golden eagle and ARP paying you for the ads?

yes they are!

I FART CONSTANTLY :giggle: :whisper:
