check it out. I got this price through another shop but the actual price for the supreme package is $400 which is not bad either. My friend who rebuilds cars takes them only to maaco and they turn out good.

that looks really good…better than i expected…and for that price…sounds like a good deal

I’m getting my car done at Maaco right now, I’ll tell you how it turns out. I’ll also try to take some better pictures than those.

for that quality at a decent price, its damn well worth it.

brian you have plenty of time before you get your license!!! DIY!!! save yourself some money. but if you really want to… do up maaco :hugs: lol

-Chad-

dont want to do it my self cuz, even if i do i probally wont like it and just end up having it done there anyway

out of curiosity…what is maaco? :flame:

its a paint shop

does maaco paint your moldings too?

yea…they probally wont even ask they’ll just spray right over them

would not touch them with a 10 foot pole.
Sure they were cheap, sure it looked good
Then the trouble started:
Paint started to fade, after 3 years (just out of warranty) all gloss was gone, the car looked like coming from the army camouflage booth. Undercoat cracked, some rustareas that were supposed to be fixed were just touched up, now rusting again. No warranty. In effect the money was wasted.
Took it to another bodyshop, cost me almost three times more than Maaco but even years later it looks like new.
Maaco? NEVER
The old saying: You get what you pay for is still true.
You are better off saving up more money and get it done right.
Used car dealers love Maaco. They get a splash job, the car is sold. Dont come back.

maaco is a franchise and every maaco will do a different job for you. I would guess they are all crap. do it yourself! it will be the way you want it and it will be perfect cause you know you did the job the right way. plus its cheaper doing it yourself.

I got mine done at Maaco and am very happy with the results… I worked with the guy there for about half hour telling him what I wanted done and how I wanted it. Here’s the best picture I have because my camera sucks:

He also told me if there’s anything wrong with it that I should come back. A guy I talked to that was there with his Dodge Viper had it done there and it looked great too (he had it done a few months prior to when I talked with him), same with all the cars in the lot.

that’s what I said: They looked good. Once the short warranty is over they don’t want to see you again.
BTW: a guy with a Dodge Viper (70.000,-- + car) goes to Maaco???
Maybe he was a used cardealer (see my previous comment)

only way i’d go maaco again is if i took a month and sanded / primered / did all the body work myself. they won’t warrnaty shooting moldings or mirrors, and then do a shit-ass job so it all flakes off anyway. they don’t pull moldings / headlights / trim / etc so if you take them off or replace them there’s old paint behind and it all looks like ass. i just replaced my side markers and they’re like 1mm smaller… DAMMIT

Im only planning on keeping my teg for about another year or so its got no body damage you think maaco will be a good way to go…i just want a color change

if you want cheap and temporary, then just take it to maaco

Anywho like everyone says, this paint job probably won’t last long. But he’ll be selling it soon anyway so that was one reason he got it at Maaco. And the price he paid was very good.

For the record, if you do any of the body work yourself before giving it to them, the won’t warranty anything.

As for overspray, yah, that happened. The wheel wells have low/moderate amounts of overspray, and there’s a little visible on the wheels themselves. The headlights and tail lights have minimal overspray also. The black trim lining around the doors and windows is surprisingly done well, with very little overspray. And then other misc parts, such as areas behind the front bumper, etc, have some overspray.

Overall and bang for your buck, it’s a decent paint job for a cheap price. But I will agree, if you plan on owning the car for years and years, save up and get it done right (or do it yourself).

Company car. The warranty really isn’t that short (2 years).

Honestly, my car is 14 years old with 185,xxx miles. I’m not going to pay what the car is worth to get a good paint job. And the warranty is plenty long I doubt I’m going to have the car for more than 2 more years.
