The shell. Near perfect original interior. Two tone (ugh), but near perfect. It has -
skunk2 springs
-tokico 4 way adjustable dampers
-brembo rotors
-hawk pads
-camber adj @ all 4 corners
-wilwood booster delete
-axis og sans in 15x8 (three inch lip, boy!)
-rays engineering lug nuts
-some nice fender hardware
that there is about it…

She is ready for insertion. Thats as far as I have made it. I had to pull axles, linkage, engine/trans, harness, radiator, and a few odds and ends out of the donor to put in the shell. Im putting a 92-93 front bumper on in the process. Upon removing the engine, I discovered that the stock mounts were made of poo, so I got some billet innovative mounts. Also the jdm as hell smashed ugly dc header was about to rust through, so I picked up an ebay special to hold me over. So, opinions? Glad to be here. Wish I wouldve joined before IA, I convoy’d in a mint wago with my rims on it all the way there. Made some new friends from cullman. It was neato. Later gents!
Dpinto - the empty shell is sold, but the gent that I sold it to just lost his job. He may be willing to part it out. What parts do you need?
Melon - thanks, and I scored them on ebay. Came with conversion harnesses. Were $125 if I’m not mistaken. They’re black housing, so hopefully they don’t look ricey. I hate rice. My friends and I are big on old school jap cars and keeping them appearing mostly stock. I got rid of an ae86 to get these tegs…
BLKACK, its def a fun project. Just wish I had more time to spend with her. Although the two tone isn’t exactly my cup o’ tea, I’m trying to keep the car mostly original. The interior is in fabulous shape, it would be a shame to molest it. I don’t think I’m gonna install my leather gsr buckets since the two tone seats are so minty.
I agree that it wold be a shame to see those seats ruined. so as long as you keep them in good condition, I suppose I could deal with not be able to buy them
OEM is where its at! I am updating the look of the car with the headlights and o.g.'s, and plan on removing the spoiler and some emblems. Those are my only style/appearance change plans. I am pretty proud of my mudflaps lol…
I know. I’ve read it over and over to see what the relation of my car and his comments. I’m thinking its an accident post. He had it stored on his computer and he accidently grabbed the wrong pic or something.
those knock off one peices are hard to pull off without looking ricey… the lens is just too clear for an older looking car… you’re better off getting clear corners (w/ amber bulbs) to simulate the jdm one piece headlights until you can source out a set IMO
Da9runner, your eloquence is definitely a welcome contribution to my thread… About the pic of another members ride, honestly all I did was copy img irl codes from my photobucket to put pics of MY tegs in my posts. How the glossy black car ended up there is beyond me. I’ve never seen it before in my life. As far as the headlights go, I’m a little leary of them myself. Hopefully they wont ruin an otherwise near-oem teg. The clear corner idea isn’t my cup of tea, but I will give it a try if the one pieces are awful. The reason I’m replacing the stock ones is because of the shape they were in. Broken, warped, bad buckets, hazy. They were a mess. Sourcing oem replacements for a decent price and in good condition is difficult in Alabama.
