Mini's 91 RS Build

so you were apparently taking that thing of some swweeettt jumps:)

Track Day In May

So I finally got the pics. They’re not as action packed as I had hoped but here they are! Next event is on july 3rd and 4th and my face is not as swollen anymore!

your passing that 350z in that last picture right? I knew those things were slow:giggle:

Lol Can’t remember…but! Agreed haha.

Hopefully I get my turbo set up this summer :D! That would make mini

be sure to do all the reading you possibly can on cooling issues that turbo’d honda’s have to do all the necessary things before doing any lapping. also to not buy parts twice. i have a hard time keeping my turbo’d DA at below 200*F just boosting around town.:argh: there is tons of very valuable info over at honda-tech.

^^Thanks for the fair warning! I’ll look into it. So you’re still having problems with heating issues now? Or have you found a solution for mini? lol

Mini’s turbo fund is going down again. I had to purchase new brakes and a new passenger rotor today. Old car = endless problems. :frowning: My caliper ceased awhile back which I replaced already. But when it did cease it wore down my brakes and heated up my brand new rotors and cracked it. :(. They come in in about 3 days and I will be safe again. But for now my passenger side makes a lot of nasty noises when I brake. :frowning: I was driving on the highway today and when I slowed down the latino guys next to me started saying a bunch of stuff I couldn’t understand and pointing. haha I guess they heard my nasty brakes. I should’ve started talking in Vietnamese.

duma pinche latinos!

yeah! What he said!!!

havn’t started my car yet with the new stuff im trying so i personally cant tell you want worked for me but with all the research i did it helped for a lot of others.

thicker half rad, 13" spal puller fan, water only with water wetter (no antifreeze), block off plate to block the whole that the half rad no longer takes up, heat wrap downpipe, manifold. the only thing i havn’t gotten that i still want is a turbo blanket. once i get the car running i’ll let you know if it worked for me. and the most important part seems to be a good radiator shroud for the fan. unfortunately my downpipe is to close to my fan so i can’t put a shroud. hopefully the rest will make up for it.

case & point about boost. :stuck_out_tongue:

Hi Mini!!! You’ve been quiet what’s the dealio?

Have you talked to anyone with the blanket? I guess I’m just going to have to figure it out if it starts over heating. Did you do all of those at one time? Or did you do one after another until the heating problem went away.

lol oh shush troy! It shall happen and it shall be glorious.
Quiet cause not much going on I guess?

Only thing new is I got all 4 new tires, new passenger front rotor and a new set of brakes. Everything the same as I had before. Azenis, power slot and hawks. besides that…I still need a new fender :(. :hyper:

Still on your quest for boost huh? lol.

Lol sure am! When I get close to saving up enough. Something comes up. Last month was horrible! My race weekend was about 250. then my tires were gone i got a good good deal on all 4  then my stupid ball joint broke and messed everything up then! my brakes go out and I my rotors cracked! 1000 bucks in the poo poo! bye by mr boost that I want to sleep with. lol

Ouch, I know the feeling…timing is always wrong !!! Well at least you replaced a good amount of wear items that are going to be beat to crap after a few sessions. Oh I know how expensive race weekends are. I’m going to be at Road America this weekend for the June Sprints, then next week is ITR expo at Autobahn which I can’t go to, then WMHM at Gingerman 2 weeks after that which I can’t go to either because of funds. I really hate cars !!! But then again these moneypits put a nice smile on my face

oh it will overheat don’t you worry! i did all of those things at once but havn’t started the engine yet so don’t know the results. with my previous setup the temp stayed at 215-220*F which is kinda scary. when i would start boosting a lot i needed to put my heater on 4 and max heat just to keep the temp somewhat normal. wasn’t fun and got really hot when it’s already really hot outside.

boost is fun as hell, but with it comes a bunch of complications.

I feel you my boost fund went to fixing the stupid ass family car. I just picked up my Pacifica from the shop after getting the flexplate replaced. And all seals. And motor mount. And starter. And battery. Only $2096 I could have spent on my family and Integra. Makes me sad. I was really thinking about just burning it, would have been cheaper.

But on a plus, since that hurdle is out of the way I just need to get the AC in wagovan working then all car monies will be directed at the teg.

I wish turboing a Bseries was as cheap as a Dseries. I’ve done Dseries turbos for insanely cheap that had great results. At one point I was toying with the notion of dropping a Dseries turbo in the teg just for fun, lol.

Timing is always wrong! haha I don’t like time. It can go…somewhere else. Yea I had to convince myself that I had to take care of more important things for the car to be safe than making it awesome. haha. Yea its soo expensive and thats only one day of racing. If I do both its going to be about 375. Bird Turd. You guys have a lot events that are going on over there. lucky you! if you don’t attend do you still go to spectate? Oh I know!! This has got to be the most expensive hobby. Its always the car or something else not both. Stupid cars…but I still love it so much.

lol thanks for the reassurance that my car will be okay. haha. Oh okay so you have all of that on but you haven’t started it so you don’t know if any of it works yet. lol. You have a gt28 right? Have you gone with any other turbo? My car was overheating at one point right after I did the motor swap and now I’m really paranoid with overheating issues. Fun and complications together sucks. haha

oh boo!!! that sucks. :frowning: Damn you priorities! Damn you and your cow! But at least you have that out of the way right? Get your teggy running and take it up here so we can all see it! well, I don’t care about them. But so I can see it! haha.

Lol I’m sure youd get some interesting comments about the swap. But at least Bseries is cheaper than a lot of other motors right?

Well I know I would have gotten alot of crap for it…but then again I can always call it an original ZXI!! I’ll even use the original single cam ZC that it’s suppose to come with. C’mon all the GayDM nuthuggers would love it !!!
