Mini's 91 RS Build

haha i thought about that to. my friend had a d16 with vitara pistons and eagle rods and he boosted 24psi on a gt28. it made 365whp. only thing is that the transmissions are way to weak.

lol you sure would have. but at least it wouldve been faster than a stock b series. LOL as long as its “jdm” they ll love it right?
 I have had 5 fat tires, and that is hilarious. Stoopid cow.

Well you and the Denver/broomfield/westy crerw are more than welcome to come down and see it in all its…um…glory.
Maybe one day carlos, maybe one day we shall take a field trip and visit you. haha with everyones schedule its gonna be difficult. OR you can just get it done and come to the meets with us! man thats brilliant. haha jk jk.

lol i was thinking about what would happen to a stoc d series tranny. and you answered that for me.

I know, you can do the complete setup for under $1k !!! I’m not too worried about the D-series trans. They’re alot stronger than you think.A friend of mine did an F to D series trans on his Accord powered turbo EF and he’s been drag racing as well as road racing it and the trans is still holding fine. It’s been over 2 years now with no hiccups. Also Bisi’s been running that setup forever !!! God sometimes I wish I had a Civic sometimes to make things sooooo much easier. :frowning:

my friend was on his 6th trans when he sold the car. the last two or three were SI trans and they were a little stronger. still broke though after a while.

Really? That’s weird, was he launching it hard with slicks or something?

street tires only. he broke second gear twice, diff twice, first gear once and on his 6th trans right before he sold it the diff was whining which means it was gonna blow up within days. btw this all happened from street driving. the trans just cant handle 300whp+

Wow, that’s alot of transmissions. My friend is still on his first transmission and he roadraces as well as drag races his car. It’s not a Dseries motor either. It’s a turbo F22 with Dseries transmission in an EF. I know he’s well over 300 also. I am a little surprised that your friend never upgraded the diff…running peg-leg with a turbo Honda high horsepower Honda isn’t any fun.

Here’s a quote from Bisimoto’s website…Many may ask, “Why the D-series transmission?” These transmissions are plentiful and very cost effective. Since many popular Honda chassis come with these transmissions from factory, factory style axles, mounts, shift linkages, and gearbox sensors can economically remain intact. Strength of the individual gears is also a big plus. Unlike their B-series brethren, D-based gears are “stubby”, and take well to abuse.

we really gotta stop jacking mini’s thread haha. but the reason he never got an lsd was because there wasn’t that many options and even if he put an lsd he still destroyed the gears so he would have needed an upgraded gear seat also. wasn’t worth the effort and time. changing the the whole trans was faster and often he got them for free since everybody just throws them away any way. but thats good for your friend that he’s still on his first.

Yeah we have to stop thread jacking, lol…but just for for thought for cheap grasroots buildups

By the way Mini, what type of spring rates are you running and what is your alignment specs?

I know! Whats going on here! jk You can jack it all you want. It makes my thread a lot more interesting. But at least we got a good lecture on civic transmissions lol.

Mr. Lostandfound: I don’t remember what the spring rates were but they are pretty high and my alignment specs are 2.5 in front and 1.5 in back.

So this weekend I went to the pikes peak hill climb. Which was amazingly better than last year probably just because the place we camped out at was way bettter. Sat pretty much at the top of the hill at about 12,870 miles above sea level. With the weather being crazy here for the past week in the 90s and it snowed on us for a few up there. I have some footage and pictures that I’ll post up in a couple days when I upload them. I unfortunately didn’t get to get any of the semis running up the hill, ran out of batteries by then. My fav car was there as always. the MONSTER! lol Keep posted! I have alot of homework to do so wont get it up today.

 cant wait for the pics lay dee. PP hill climb is defiantly something I plan I trying at some point

For sure Glynn! Ill let you see first I guess. But I’ll probably post it in the others topic since it doesn’t really belong in my build thread but Ill say on here when I do it get it up :D.

Oh and! I’m trying to sell his mustang off and if I do, it means I get my turbo. So if anyone knows anyone thats looking for a mustang its a no joke car for reals let me know! I know not that many ford fans but this is for my best interest lol so thats all that matters though. But it is a ford I probably wouldn’t mind owning.

we want pics of the integra doing the hill climb!

 im sure at some point this teg will do it and with a great time to boot:up:

lol yea no way is my car going up that thing. Compared to all the cars there its a pos car with an inexperienced driver haha. It costs wayyy to much to get on that climb and some really good experience records to be able to get in. I feel really good that I get to attend this every year considering its the 2nd oldest race in the US. People camp out days before so they get the spot they want or wait in line for a day to get to the top of the hill. Lucky us kinda just kinda cut the line so we only waited for 5 mins and was one of the first to get to the top of the hill to pick our spots. Sorry I haven’t gotten any pics up yet. I’ve been out camping for the weekend and got a little crazy but I’ll get em up soon after I clean up here.

Oh and by the way. Finally got things settled with my body man. He has 2 cars ahead of me. So when he’s done with that. My car is going in. Which should be about 2 1/2 - 3 weeks. I decided to keep it red so I don’t have to worry about doing my engine bay. I just want to get rid of all the dents, rusts flaws etc. So my car can be in the best shape. She deserves it. I’ll probably be putting my type-r lip on while I’m at it too. Have had it laying around for over a year now I think its time to slap it on. haha Hope everything goes as planned!

So I got the photos. I’ll just post up some. Don’t want to bombared with photos on here.

Our view, the monster!, the genesis and mr. Semi. enjoy!!!

the 16 year old female driver and her female co driver - they actually did pretty good, a better picture of monster, the only honda in the race, and people above us.

Sweet pics, I’m glad you’re getting out to alot of very cool events !!

glad to see things are coming along well for you. I just went to itr expo last weekend…it felt great to be on the track again. Going to wmhm 10 next weekend and hopefully after that will be my first NASA hpde event at mid-ohio…woo hoo…I love July! When is your next hpde event?

thanks! me too. its quite an experience and full of diverse people. love it

thank you :D. Oh sounds good! sounds like you re going to some good events too. Yea I didn’t get to make all the events this season only been to two. I really wanted to go to the one last week but ended up going camping instead. The next one is in hastings which isn’t where I’m at so I’m going to have to skip that. I’ll probably go but only watch cause we only have one trailer and the subies going. So probably not until end of august? :(. make sure you take some pics!
