oh man that was alot of reading!!! now im up to date with this thread… i cant remember though is your motor built internally? subscribed to this build… seems a lil late but better late than never! :excite:
^^ Aww! lol it wasn’t much to read that meant much but now you know more about my life on g2! Congratulations lol. The motor is partially? built. I would say. I’ve only partially built the head. It has 272 cams, cam gears, spring retainers and I think thats it…it has a pulley kit but that doesn’t count. So partially? haha
Its never to late to join Mini the fast masters build! The thread that talks about nonsense. haha.

Lol yea some parts nonsense but nothing better to do than read it all. So when is this going to get tuned on a dyno? I’m building a similar set up but with the b18a1. Whole motor is fully built from head to block. I want to autocross it and do some drag but indecisive about turbo size set up. Just running threw threads getting ideas. And yours seems to catch the most attention and comments so therefore there are suggestions in here that I can read and learn off that. Any more pictures of progress?
lol nonsense is what makes my thread insteresting haha. Were you at least a little bit entertained? haha. I’m not for sure yet. theres no set date. And it depends on when mr tuner has a free slot for me to pop in on since I’m not paying. But usually it would be right after he gets off or something like that within that week. He’s been anxious to see how my car does so he’ll want to get in early :D. Oh nice! Yea I wish my motor was fully built. One day it will. What are your goals for the motor to put down after boost? Maybe if you want to do autocross IMO I would go with a smaller turbo to get a better response since a lot of autocross is in 1-3rd gear. I have a bigger turbo because I road race so I hit 5th on the straight aways. Aww thanks! I like my build too! haha Its different. The piping is a little different than a usual DA turbo set up. A lot shorter and you dont have to shave as much off the bumper. The only pictures I have are posted right now. But probably will have a lot more by the end of this week :D. Keep me updated with what you decide on doing!
Will finally be working on the car tonight Hoping to have the car running before I head out to SEMA. And tuned when I get back Wish me luck!
Made the down pipe today

Oh so there isn’t like different classes? Its just everyone against eachother?
Its a suspension company. Yea one of his sponsors. But I don’t know Im hoping the car will be there but doubt it since his motor blew most of the season so couldn’t make most of the races. Whats your guy’s tent going to be under? I’m trying to get off work so I can make it thursday and friday. Wish me luck! If not I won’t even be able to go… the race kinda came up unexpectedly and we can’t prepare in time. Thought it was next weekend but its this weekend so we would have to leave tomorrow…which is do-able but too much of a rush and theres a lot of things to handle here back at home…so wouldn’t happen.[/QUOTE]
Ahh that sucks about the motor blowing. My friend has has own booth every year, Exospped racing products/wheels. For sure you should try to make it out, all the luck to you, be awesome if you came by with ur bf and said hi…even though you have no idea what i look like haha. Hopefully you and ur bf sort out his problems with his car and make it to more races, esp to tracks down here in so cal, hopefully you get ur car running soon too.
And yes there are different classes, not as many as before but there are still classes, I don’t reallly remember if they changed the name of the class or if its sitll the same, but I believe it might be pro fwd or pro street fwd, I’d need to double check.
looking good laydee, whats this about having to drill new holes? Hope fully youll have this up and running by the time I get back:)
BTW greetings from NYC
Actually I was pretty entertained lol. Some autocross and some drag. Want to be in the range of 350+whp after boost with quick spool. I was told doing a back door intercooler would help in spool up. I might just try that style of ic. but its a very slow build. it took me a year to have my motor fully built well not fully built its not sleeved but yea a year that’s pretty long. build won’t be done probably another year slowly but surely i’ll get there. but good luck to you with sema!
Im not sure of who your talking to but the theroy is the less piping you have, the less time it takes to presurize them and the end result is a faster spool, of course there or many factors in turbo spool and the actual time is probly going to be pretty negligableone, but they all add up in the end product. After doing some research myself, this seems to be a very sound principal and that why I also plan on running it.
the biggest factor is of course the turbo and the setup all together. i dont have a back door setup and yet i spooled 18psi at 3800rpm. thats a quick spool. dont expect to spool quick with a gt40 or something in that range.

So I’ll be leaving this this tuesday night to head over there :D. Be at the show on wed. Whats your name? Sorry I don’t think I’ve ever caught it. So when I do stop by I know who to say hi too haha. Where is the tent near this year for you guys?

Thanks hun! It was for the gasket to bolt up right. Cause the one I order for some reason the holes weren’t big enough. So had to drill out bigger holes to make it work.
Hum…i dont know much about the back door intercooler. I’ve actually never even read in about that so I can’t even say much about that besides that it sounds like a lot of piping haha. So you think you’ll try to get the new set up in about a year? cross fingers? Any idea on what turbo yet? Thanks! I’m totally stocked I’m leaving in a couple days. It’ll be great to get away from work school and everything else here. I just need a break. And hopefully meet some g2 members out there. That would be awesome for sure!
the real factor is that mini’s set up is the best set up in world. I just cant help it. lol jk jk. but for sure. watch the piping watch the turbo watch the set up and of course get that good tune. ;D
Update from Thursday night. Finished up the down pipe and I took apart 4 bov’s lol. To piece together a good one. Thats what you do when you don’t want to pay for one. Probably work on it some more tonight until the trick or treaters come by. Here are some eye candies for the trick or treaters on here.

Thanks! Here are some pics of it for ya! We just had a photographer fly in from utah…well drive in from utah to shoot it for a mag. Hopefully it made it in though.
Uhm…mainly because it works with what the set up is going to be and I’m still going to be running a full radiator. Answer your question at all?
My bfs. Its beautiful aint it? lol

Trying too bud! But time is totally not on my side right now :[.
somewhat haha. usually people install the compressor on the passenger side because they want to keep a/c, p/s or because of the piping or something. since you have all custom piping i was just wondering. running it the other way allows less piping and less bends. was just curious. i finally got mine tuned. check my thread. no big numbers however. not this year.
