Aren’t B20s bad for boost with weaker walls and the like?
Nice power though, wasn’t expecting that much.
I think that its a little weaker but I don’t think it that big of a deal. As what mr. weasel here said. I guess we’ll have to put it to the test next season huh. But as for right now, when I do take her out she runs like a champ. <3 But thank you! I can’t wait to finish the tune and warmer weather so i can get some traction.
the lower compression ratio of the B20s allows for safe boosting. the bore is only 3mm less (84 vs 81). that makes the actual thickness of the sleeve material just 1.5mm thinner than LS sleeves. when theyre 20mm thick already, i doubt 1.5mm would be an issue, you neve know though. (thats also assuming that B20 sleeves are just LS sleeves with a larger bore, and not a totally new part with the same thickness walls, ive never measured them personally so…)
there is only one shop here with e85 and the sign says “not an official product” below it.
a guy runs E85 on his supra in town and says that the mixture is so random that he has to run an actual sensor that reads the amount of ethanol in the fuel to adjust for the variances.
until ethanol based fuels are more closely regulated, i cant see myself doing the switch. its also incredibly more expensive here, approaching $5/gallon. i can see the pros but the cons outweigh them in my case.
have you put a tank through it yet to see what kinda mileage youre getting, Mini?

Very smart man Mr. Weasel :D. Totally agree with you on that. Uh…well thats lame. Inconsistent e85…do they have inconsistent customers too? lol uhm I went through a whole tank already but this first tank it was totally ripped on. So I don’t really think that counts. about a quarter of the tank left on the dyno then the rest was testing it out, giving rides and just ripping it haha. But I’m on the 2nd tank now and I’ll let you know how that goes. That first one did get about 18 miles per gallon. So rough estimate of maybe 22? Which I don’t mind I don’t daily drive it so I dont care what kind of milege it gets.
oh okay. yeah i’m running e85 as well, should have sum dyno numbers by friday or saturday hopefully! great numbers for such a simple setup though! hope it runs strong for ya.
E85 is $2.22 a gallon @ the station I go to:p which part of FL do u live in? my homeboy lives down in the Miami area and he said 70% of the street cars run E85 down there.
Oh nice, let us know your results after you’re done for sure. And thank you! Its running perfect right now and i hope it continues to too.
2.22?! oh man…everyone better be running it down there lol.
