Mini's 91 RS Build
it has crower stage 2 272 cams, throttle body and intake manifold. Thats about it. The biggest part is going with e85. That changes alot.
oh okay. yeah i’m running e85 as well, should have sum dyno numbers by friday or saturday hopefully! great numbers for such a simple setup though! hope it runs strong for ya.

i wish e85 was available at pumps in Quebec!! the best we got is 94 octane at most Petro Canada’s but not all.

there is only one shop here with e85 and the sign says “not an official product” below it.
a guy runs E85 on his supra in town and says that the mixture is so random that he has to run an actual sensor that reads the amount of ethanol in the fuel to adjust for the variances.
until ethanol based fuels are more closely regulated, i cant see myself doing the switch. its also incredibly more expensive here, approaching $5/gallon. i can see the pros but the cons outweigh them in my case.
have you put a tank through it yet to see what kinda mileage youre getting, Mini?

E85 is $2.22 a gallon @ the station I go to:p which part of FL do u live in? my homeboy lives down in the Miami area and he said 70% of the street cars run E85 down there.

Damn 2.22 a gallon I wish…thats like half what I have to pay…I am probably gonna cry the nest time I go fill up my car at 1.20 a liter……O and gorgeous build BTW…

northern florida, between jacksonville and orlando. its the only E85 station in a 40 mile range. the price changes often too, could be 5 bucks in the morning and then be 3.50 a few hours later. the next station is a national chain so i doubt the price fluctuates as drastically.
Aren’t B20s bad for boost with weaker walls and the like?

Nice power though, wasn’t expecting that much.
I think that its a little weaker but I don’t think it that big of a deal. As what mr. weasel here said. I guess we’ll have to put it to the test next season huh. But as for right now, when I do take her out she runs like a champ. <3 But thank you! I can’t wait to finish the tune and warmer weather so i can get some traction.
the lower compression ratio of the B20s allows for safe boosting. the bore is only 3mm less (84 vs 81). that makes the actual thickness of the sleeve material just 1.5mm thinner than LS sleeves. when theyre 20mm thick already, i doubt 1.5mm would be an issue, you neve know though. (thats also assuming that B20 sleeves are just LS sleeves with a larger bore, and not a totally new part with the same thickness walls, ive never measured them personally so…)

Very smart man Mr. Weasel :D. Totally agree with you on that. Uh…well thats lame. Inconsistent e85…do they have inconsistent customers too? lol uhm I went through a whole tank already but this first tank it was totally ripped on. So I don’t really think that counts. about a quarter of the tank left on the dyno then the rest was testing it out, giving rides and just ripping it haha. But I’m on the 2nd tank now and I’ll let you know how that goes. That first one did get about 18 miles per gallon. So rough estimate of maybe 22? Which I don’t mind I don’t daily drive it so I dont care what kind of milege it gets.

Oh nice, let us know your results after you’re done for sure. And thank you! Its running perfect right now and i hope it continues to too.

2.22?! oh man…everyone better be running it down there lol.

:[ boo!! you know what that means…time to move to CO. We still don’t have that much here but more than there I’m sure haha. I think we have maybe 8, 9 stations? Not complaining. I do wish there was more so I wouldn’t have to drive to a specific station to get my gas.

I know right? haha and thank you! ;D

yeah will def post results! and dyno vids and of course infamous ripper vids:D well I honestly think i’m gonna be the 1st turbo honda in the area to be running E85 that I know of. there are 3 E85 stations with a 30-40 mile radius of the Capital city where I live. so the only reason I run it is because there is a station like 5 mins from my job that I commute to everyday haha.

Mini, most cars that can switch between conventional fuel to Ethanol-based from the factory also have an ethanol sensor and adjust not only for different fuel types, but for the grades of the fuel, in case you didnt know that already.
most of the customers there are college kids and rich people that live in the vicinity of the college town i live near. they could care less about the inconsistencies. oh well :\

have fun with your 400 horses.

lol why of course, I wouldn’t be expecting any less. Well thats good, I think I am too. Pretty sure but cant be for sure. But lucky you…got one right next to you. Good luck with the tune!

Thats only for the newer cars though right? Well since you mentioned that most of the people there are rich…hahah

hhaha I can always try

Yesterday we got the new fuel pump in and made a temp exhaust for now so its not just dumping at the downpipe anymore. Girl runes a little smoother but can tell thats she really wants the rest of that tune. Hopefully there will be an open spot on the dyno this week so my lover can hope on there and finish her tune :D. Cross your fingers for me.

Oh…and mini needs to start saving up for a new clutch. lol. What a surprise. Money towards the new car goes away…:[

Fingers Crossed! :cross: :cross: :cross: :cross: :cross: :cross: :cross: :cross: :cross: :cross: :cross: :cross: :cross:
Bump for Boosted B20’s! :bump: May The HP (horsepower) gods Bless you with Powa!

wait, you’re boosting near 400whp on a stock clutch? that’s crazy. i find the stock clutch isn’t even good for stock hp.

:hi5: Thank you! I hope they do too. ;]

haha i know! I’m surprised too. It is going out though…:[ Wish it would last a little longer but what can I expect right?

Girl is on the dyno

well get the bitch off and put your car on damnit lol

Schweeeeet! Cire says: 425, at 18psi  that is, if your clutch will hold :cross: :burnout:

That bitch is my car :[ lol…

Didn’t put her up that high haha. The spring in it doesn’t go tthat high. But its at 12lbs gauge 9lbs map. She scares me now…I got a little getting use to now lol. I don’t think I’ll be driving her in my fancy shoes anytime soon lol.

So full tune at 12lbs she made 383/300   :D.
Smoothed out my idle a little cause the rough idle was startig to unscrew my bolts lol.
Tuned her with traction control
Raised my revs back up to 8000 rmp.
And I think thats about it. She scares the crap out of me… But oh man do I love this thing even more now.
Can’t wait until I get a new clutch and a lsd in here… YUMMAY!!!

Nice. What tranny are you running? And what LSD are you going for? Nice numbers I wanna hump your ride lol
