I have a missfire at around 5600rpm under full throttle. my mods…
1990 integra gs
ebay turbo kit
10 psi
450 dsm injectors
255 pump
vafc (i know, unsafe, i dont care)
the car was running fine and now its not. i dont think i changed anything to make it do this. i have an ls. vafc was just what was availible. my settings are -22 from 1000-7500rpm. I dont wanna change them too much because my wideband sensor took a shit. I have another one on order but it will be awhile. I just thought that some of you may be able to help.
i replaced
spark plug wires
cap
rotor
plugs (gapped to .028)
any help on some tricks playing with the vafc will help as i am new to it. i know its unsafe, my motor has 210k on it, and i just dont really care what happens. but i would like to get the most from it before it does blow. sorry the thread is so undetailed, my other one didnt post.
what step plug are you running ? you might need 1 step hotter plug , might be losing spark from the boost ?
Step 6 which I believe is 1 step colder. And with the gap at .028 I doubt I’m blowing out spark.
ok well i was mearly throwing things out there LOL , maybe the gap is too small ? ive seen stranger things happen ?
I’ve tried a few different gap. From .040 all the way down to .028. Thank you for the ideas, I’m willing to try anything at this point
possibly starving for fuel? are your settings for the VAFC correct and correlate to your timing? you know when a parts limits are pushed, it will run best before she blows or one of your parts go. sounds like you need to look at possible fueling issues…fuel pressure…etc. It can also be your ICM breaking down, new coil… if theres a way a buddy can let you try his §§§§§, I’d go for it. also does it do this all the time… only when it’s hot? etc… besides that, your plugs you should be running are NGK BKR7E, PN# 4644. I do not know what plugs you have but they offer a BKR6E-11 PN# 2756.
