my $200 91 RS.. low budget project

so it was “free” parts day this weekend managed to grab these RS seats which is an improvement at least…

before

after

after installing the seats i noticed if you sit back on them the chair goes back a bit (doesn’t stay in place), same goes with the passenger… are these seats pretty much messed?

rails could be worn out…?? just swap the original rails onto the new seats. Looks great btw,.

sorry my bad, just the back part of the chair moves back the bottom piece stays in place… it’s as if the recliner isn’t locking it in or something

looks great man, can you take the assembly off your other seats and put on the new seats?

Nice turn out.

how did your original seats get so bad???

is it just a bolt-off bolt-on procedure?

that’s what i’d like to know too, came with the car when i bought it

anyway some more updates

picked up this 3rd gen (90-91) prelude steering wheel from the scrapyard for $14

finally got rubbers for the 501s… swapped the old rubber from my BBS’s

and with the help of my cousin and 6 hours later i replaced the boots (couldnt afford the axles) on my axles and after a couple of days the clicking was drastically improved (but still there)

ok guys, my car no longer starts

it makes a loud metal-screetching noise and doesn’t turn… i took off the cap and the rotor doesn’t even spin when i try to start… any help would be appreciated

notes: the starter i have on it was broken at one point but i had it rebuilt by a friend… i’m going to try an extra starter i have and see if that’s the problem… *crosses fingers

Might be the starter, but i dought it, you could take it off and bench test it. My car did this when the timing belt broke. Was valve to piston contact, for shits and giggles i retimed it and put a new belt on and it worked.

looks awesome for being a budget build. i was gonna use the coil overs i took out of my old crx but they rode like shit on the kyb agx’s they were on. we’ll see what happens. i would just buy a new starter

thanks guys, i just took off the valve cover and plugs 2 and 3 were DRENCHED in oil (that’s what you get for being budget and re-using the old o-rings when you paint your valve cover :P)… the timing belt still looks good… i’m going to try another starter and see what happens…

[EDIT]

well, it turns out SOMEHOW my starter was missing a bolt, so the starter was barely hanging on by one bolt… i don’t see how a 14mm bolt can un-tighten itself to the point where it falls out… i tightened her up good and now it’s all good… thank GOD, i don’t have the money for a timing belt…

wellp, with that out of the way i installed some ebay white LED tails for reverse… looks pretty sweet!

nice how much did they run you? i gotta repaint my VC soon aswell

DA ballin on a budget I love it. Keep it up:rockon:

didnt see your post befor lol i dunno if its bolted on and off il look in my haynes but i dunno

amazing build so far for a budget build. keep up the good work. im diggin the roof rack on it!

so plastX really works eh?

got them for free, my buddy had them on his EG sedan but they’re so dim (compared to regular bulbs) and he had dark tint… he ended up giving them to me… it’s true, they don’t light up anything at night but man it looks sweet!

i’m too lazy to take them out again, i’m just gonna deal with it until i get some GS seats, lol

thanks man, yeah i love the roof rack! i get a lot of props from veedub guys

hells yes! highly recommended

my buddys got the LED reverse lights on his dc2 and they are hella bright

nice lookin da you got there… whole lot better then before.
