my 91 DA w/ B18C1 (rare color) **slow build in progress**

hello g2ic.com,
thought id share my DA integra. I bought the car as a shell and have been working on it since. Ive added the GSR engine, headlights, repainted all moldings, custom fitted EK sideskirts. This is hopefully my last honda build, so thats why im taking my time lol. I love the oem color.

Looks great!!! keep up the good work!!!

What’s this rare color? Can’t really tell from your pics because it looks like you took them from a cellphone. It looks like blade silver a little but that color was only on 90 rs integras. Looks like a nice start to a project

^^

B50M - Melbourne Blue Metallic

It’s the same color as my car

Good job on the build so far! What’s on the list?

Wow either that’s a really bad camera or my computer screen is garbage lol

you couldnt have picked a better platform then the DA for your last honda build and from the looks of it already. it should be pretty good:up:

wait… are you talking about my picture or the OP’s?

It’s not the camera… it’s this paint. It changes color in the sun light

He’s right. Look at the front fender of the OP’s picture. It looks more like the one he just posted.

my 91 DA build

Hello again g2ic.com, i have posted here before but now im starting my official build thread since im gonna add video and buy a better digital camera very soon. This is my 5th integra four were DA’s even had a RHD DB1, had a DC2. I love DA “ol’ skool!”

detailed so possibly lengthy to some
The integra is a 1991 melbourne blue metallic 5sp GS. I bought the car from a guy on honda0tech as a shell but in pretty good shape last august. Since ive owned its gone thru a transformation. i wish i had the knowledge, resources, money to have done more before i put the motor in, but its ok in due time. I also bought the motor from a guy on hondat0tech. Alot of work has been done already and more to continue but ive tried to maintain cleaning thoroughly everywhere and i intend to keep it that way and improve. i want a clean fast cornering quick stopping integra. Mind you on a college student rent paying budget but thankfully im going to be able to do alot.

So this thread is to document progress, ask questions as i go to learn more, express my obsession, passion, project as it gets bigger. Im definitely going for function compared to dishing out ridiculous loads of cash for rims and stuff like that. however the parts i buy will be top quality and each piece will be documented properly.

So to anybody who contributes, reads, bumps this post much love and appreciation. any insights, ideas, remarks, hate, love is welcome.

also this is a as of now time line in regards to pictures and future upgrades. i took pictures as much as i could to seperate each step tooken but some work was done undocumented.

all work done by myself, my girl and few friends occasionally, minus help installing engine due to weight but i did it too and the wiring was done by eastside mufler

specs upon request.
thanks to loosh for shell, thanks to skavenger*EF9 for GSR motor swap

these pics are from when i first got it uncleaned, no headlights, no motor, minus sideskirts, unpainted moldings, had pin strips on both sides, had word integra on trunk. this was the beginning of the end.

as more parts and work was done more pics were taken. this is the motor when i first got it then recleaned it and before installation. The engine bay pic was taken after it was all cleaned and degreased. The exterior pictures are from when we managed to remove the pin strip on both side, the word integra on the trunk,re-painted moldings all the way around and added the 96 civic eK sideskirts.I also bought the headlights from malaysia shipped thru customs then installed. flawless condition. The motor was then installed and tooken to Eastside muffler to wire.

these also were taken prior to engine starting or being wired. this was around mid November last year.

for those interested to see how greasy and untidy the engine bay was prior to engine installation here you go. The wiring was cleaned up professionally and the grease was rubbed away using elbow grease. like they say cleanliness is next to godliness. hopefully one day my G2 will qualify for the cleanest G2’s thread. thats ultimately my goal.

motor shot before intake was removed due to battery installation conflicted with air filter. had to switch to stock tubing and aftermarket air filter. the picture with the lowrider and cadillac picture was taken at Eastside muffler while it was being wired.

motor1[1].jpg

for awhile the car sat just collecting dust just to be started everyonce in awhile. i dont drive it too much, tryna keep it clean, working good and not stolen. but more pics have been taken. these are the most current taken today. As it sits its primarily stock in need of major upgrades. But about to undergo a major change soon.

** on the gauge cluster pic the needles were repainted spoon yellow since im in need of a speedo cable. this was done by paintbrush and my girlfriend thankfully, i think it came out better than imagined.**

Next week more parts are being ordered.

amr fully adjustable suspension
etd traction bar
slotted and drilled brake rotors and pads front and back
stainless steel brake lines
speedometer cable
strut bar both front and rear
steering wheel setup
c pillar bar

but as time progresses and more money is in pocket more will happen. i have alot of plans and ideas as time continues. Hope everybody likes.

“”“”"pics taken today below**********

future plans include wheels and tires, new intake, powdercoated valve cover, jdp lip and much more just stay tuned as weeks progress.

Also when all parts with wheels installed, then professional cleaning and photography will happen.

In the meantime the picture quality may suffer but its for sharing and documentation purposes.

video coming soon

please rate this thread on how put together it is, good, bad, horrible.

thank you ill make changes if needed.

what do u guys think of the EK sideskirts?? yay or nay? just wondering. im thinking of doing DC sides now or maybe keeping the EK’s.
