My 91 DA9, Labor of love! I have the 2nd gen bug for sure...

Looks great Peter! I may have to try to convince Dustin to help me do a paint correction on my new db1. Those results are really impressive

Boltonhonda- jdp makes the hiro reps to order now. No more limited runs. You can order them individually. So it looks like everyone’s fears a few years ago were valid because now that there’s a mold out there he’s producing quite a few. Not necessarily a bad thing that we have another part available but definitely not an uncommon look anymore like it was in the past.

Holy crap! I had no idea. I don’t care about rarity of it, hell there is like 1 or 2 other second gens running around the city. Is someone making the attachment hardware again to go with it?

thanks! I learned a ton and Dustin was excited to help out, so it worth a shot asking him.

And as for the Hiro ya everything seems made to order. I believe you can order the Hiro in fiber or carbon as well

Here are some of the pics from my trip

Got a cool little camera mount on amazon

First quick stop and snapped a photo

I found a dead DA on the side of the freeway. Stopped but nobody was around :surrend:

Here is my “air conditioning”

Finally made it to the hotel. The amount of bugs aaaggh

Found a nice self serve car wash and cleaned her up for the meet in the morning

First couple buddies met up at the carls jr and i got the drone out to make sure it was working properly

Really liked this DB1 rear end

After the meet we took a canyon cruise and I got some epic pictures and video (posted above). I had an awesome time the socal guys were super nice and they have some really nice cars! Looking forward to the next trip. Sorry I dont have more pictures of the actual meet. Still sorting through everything

Nice man!

thanks DAnny

Nice shots man! I just came back yesterday I picked up another car in the Burbank area and drove it home

Man, the Cali 2nd gen Integra scene is still inspirational after all these years! Great pics, thanks for posting.

Yes it is indeed. Even where I am in Norcal I look at socal for inspiration. Cant wait to see where this car takes me next!

So my buddy Vic has a clean '90 db1, with a jdm itr swap and some goodies on top. I always wanted to see what my wheels looked like on his car, so we did a little swap for the week

so i got some skins for my phone and matched it to the car lol. Carbon hood then white body and fenders, then carbon wing on the back

another shot of Vics car with my wheels. Almost too good to take them back, almost.

here is the beast. jdm type r with some add ons and a tune. made good power on the dyno all motor

Decided to take my headlights off and actually clean them up. They came from malaysia and were fairly turfed as far as condition of the backs. the Lens were yellowed noticeably.

You can see how rusty the hardware was, and the plastic was gross. Also there was rubber gasket material all over from being previously sealed up

and they are apart

I cleaned up/sanded down the backs and went about applying a base of some primer grey paint

First step of the 500 grit sand paper done. I used the 3m headlight kit, since this was my first time attempting something like this.

I did a better job on the second lens, because I didnt realize you need to get ALL of the yellowing out in the first or second steps. The later fine grit stages just dont cut enough to do it. heres another shot of the first one
And got the first lens put on the back to see how it looks. Much better if you ask me

And of course my buddies have to come by and give me a hard time lol. They can always sniff out a project

looking good

all bolted back on. I ended up painting all the hardware black. Sanded them down and put some primer first. I think it came out a lot cleaner

Pulled the car out for some pictures with the headlights on. They are noticeably brighter. Love it!

Shes a lovely thing in black and white

What did you use to open up the one piece headlight? And the glue? Ive been thinking of sanding mine too its been years since I bought it and was never mounted on my car lol! Nice black n white shot man akways a pleasure to see you post.

Keep in mind I only opened mine up because it had a bad seal, some parts were rusted inside and I wanted to clean really well.
its really fairly simple to open them up I put them in the oven one at a time at like 280 degreesfor a few minutes to 10 minutes. Then you can pull it out WITH GLOVES ON and pull the lens apart from the housing. Remove all the hardware and the tiny screw by the corner light before putting in oven.

Sanding was a breeze with the 3m kit. Follow instructions.

And thanks man been loving how the car is right now. Have some parts to put on soon that came off my buddies JDM type R

Haha the put gloves on bit is an important piece of info. I burnt my fingers so many times opening up my foglights using a heat gun. On the note of polishing though, I’ve had pretty good luck just knocking the lenses down with 800 grit and then using 2K clearcoat over that. Before the clear they look like shit but after they cure it comes out looking clear and has the added benefit of adding a lot of UV protection to the lenses.

its true man the first time i did it I didnt have the gloves ready.
I actually did not do any clear on these, kind of dumb. but it is garaged most of the time, and I have a lot of wax on there. At some point I am gonna pull them off again and shoot some clear.

Good work man! Makes such a big difference to clean up the headlights like that. I finally finished my set after procrastinating for like a month.
