My 91 DA9, Labor of love! I have the 2nd gen bug for sure...

Well it has been a while. I know there is not a lot of traffic on here but I need to stay updated. Took the da out to Raceworz Sacramento a few weeks ago. Overall had a blast and got to meet some cool people, see some great cars. I made a short video of the day:

I changed to a black valve cover for the meantime. Also some big news, I brought home my buddies type R engine block. I already have all of the type r cams and springs, as well as the intake manifold. Most likely selling the b17 swap to another friend. The result? all the of us will have badass vtec swaps lol.

Don’t forget to get that swap tuned  Can really make a huge difference in how the car drives.

You know it man, I already have a virgin p28 I’m planning to throw crome on, possibly hondata depending on where the budget lands. I’m stoked though!

Man if I had my funds right I would be interested on that b17 swap.

So I got a little metal polish and tried my hand at shining up some metal bits. Came out pretty nice, especially on the radiator and the engine mounts. The intake tube came out much nicer, after removing th ebig aem metal badge and polishing it up.

at raceworz sacramento, met a new friend and his Mugen themed, del sol green da9. Loved talking about the different parts on the car.

one of my favorite cars from raceworz, this trans-am graphic wearing datsun 510, sporting a rotary swap and sitting on air. really unique and a super cool owner

so on the way to raceworz i had to stop at autozone for some glass cleaner. As i was pulling in the parking lot smoke was pooring in to the cabin of the car. I shut it down, pop the hood and find my valve cover gasket had popped out, spewing oil all over the bock and the engine bay. Went inside, bought a new gasket and went to work swapping it out. I was that determined to make it to raceworz. Anyway after i finished an older gentleman asked for some help getting a fitting in the power steering box on his truck. I happily lended a hand, and in return asked for a seflie with the guy (Stew). He looks like he could be my grandpa lol. Its all about lending a hand when you can.

thought some of you might like to see my Vice I picked up at a garge sale about a year ago. Recently I cleaned it up, mounted it and painted the “made in japan” letters red. You know, cause JDM Yo

On to the current projects… Car has been down for a couple weeks now. working on replacing all of the bushings on all 4 corners. So shes up on jack stands. I have completed the front wheels, pressed in new contorl arm bushings, lower ball joints, sway bar bushings and end links, fixed a bad bearing on one wheel, rebuilt and painted both calipers in pontiac blue engine paint. it has been unbearably hot lately but i am pressing through, trying to get it all done before EF vs DA on suday (bay area, anyone going??)

Ill post more pictures of the rear. doing the trailing arm bushings the next couple of days! down to the wire lol

One more thing, I mentioned earlier I bought an R block. Well here it is in the back of my daily lol! I am excited

Love the DA9. Quick question on the radiator. Do you mind letting me know the parts/part numbers that you ordered? It looks like our regular AC fan does not work with it. Thanks in advance.

Did you make it to the meet? We were not able to its our town Fiesta and I had to drive to Santa Maria ca.

here you go. I ordered on amazon.com [h=1]MMRAD-INT-90[/h]
• Direct fit for the 1990
  • Pulled the header off and I started polishing it. Never sanded metal like this before. Started with a 400 grit. Once I got all the oxidation and buildup off I did a pass with the 800 grit. After that I have some 1000 paper, then 1500 and on to 3000 grit. Then Rolite metal polish with a power cone. Should be nice once its done

    Header is looking good!

Got the DA pulled in to storage where its going under some more changes. B17 is coming out, after serving me for 2 long years. Got the car ready in a couple of hours.

Plates are gonna have to change lol
