these are pics from when i first bought the car. got it september of last year and its my 2nd da. 1993 ls with a jdm b16a sir 2 swap and a 90-91 ls trans. came with a carbon fiber hood which needs tlc lol. also came with kyb gr 2 struts and ebay coilover sleeves which ride surprisingly good. there were some flaws as i picked it up for 900. all the wheel studs were stripped and i had to replace them and the shift linkage was so bad i couldnt tell what gear i was in lol… got it fixed tho
the first thing i did when i got the car was pick up an ls engine… i like the b16 but it had no guts on the low end and top end was meh. so i picked up this ls for 200 complete longblock and spare parts came with so great deal.
did the lsv swap and it ran good. used the p30 pistons out the b16a and it pulled hard. but later i found an oil leak which the headgasket was the culprit of. and thats due to me just slapping it together without resurfacing the head… i know i know noob mistake. but what put it down for a good while was the trans blew lol… spider gears in my diff blew apart
and then after i put it in the head gasket was really eating up oil so i parked it and decided to get to work.
picked up some parts half size radiator from speeddady, h beam rods from godspeed (from my research they are the same as scat h beam rods, we will see. and for 320 ish shipped not a bad buy) also replaced the steel rod bolts they came with with arp 2000 rod bolts. adjustable cam gears from ebay. full race traction bar i picked up for 200 only test fitted. arp head bolts acl bearings. act streetlight flywheel (12.5 lbs) and a 6 puck unsprung clutch. new water pump and tensioner. no name b series 70mm throttle body and polished type r intake manifold
i also got type r replica seats and installed them. i also began switching the blue interior to black… hate the blue. got a black carpet and black 90 rs rear seats dont have pics of those tho
looks good my man
Great start with your built! OEM headlights look way better.
i looked at the engine pulled and said ‘please lord let him at least pressure wash and hand polish/wax that bay before he drops the engine back in’ low and behold, it’s getting fresh paint…WOOT…will keep my eyes in here to see the progress…good move bro
thanks guys i started welding the holes on the front headlight support area ahha and ran out of wire so ill pick up again tomorrow night. and yea im planning on using a high temp champagne gold paint for the block. and a similar champagne gold for the bay.
