My Endlessss Integra Addiction!

Well, where do I start!? My name is Drew and I am 24 years young. I live in South Carolina. I love Gen. 2 Integra’s and I can never get enough rock climbing. I have been apart of this forum for quite sometime now. I love the community and how everyone seems to get along pretty well. There is soo much information for our cars on this site and I have learned so much from everyone over the years!

I have been contemplating a build thread for some time now, but didn’t even know where to begin, since I’ve had my Integra for so long it feels like now. I wanted a way to show what I have learned over the years. I guess that I will try my best at placing everything in order and creating some kind of timeline for guys!

2007

I was fortunate enough to pick up a 1990 Integra RS for $1,850 as my first car, when I was 16 years old (I think) so let’s start with that one first.

P.S. I have a concussion right now and you will find out why later

When I first got the car. Had to replace the cv axles a week later lol. Still learning 5 speed and it had 174k miles.

First modification was Tein Basic coilovers

2008

Graduated Highschool 2008 and used my grad money to get Nippon Type C wheels along with Michelin Pilot exalto’s

In the mountains

2009

Next, I saved up for some Bride bucket seats (replicas), along with weapon-r brackets, and Team Tech harnesses. You can also see the circuit hero extension and Blox shift knob

Takata eye-bolts

Checking into a hotel for FormulaD Road Atlanta in Braselton, Georgia!

2010

2010 was a crazy year; where I did a lot to the Integra! My oil pump failed at 219k so it was time for a new engine!

An unforgettable experience. My first time doing this and I got help from some amazing friends

Making a mess! lol

Got rid of A/C and powersteering during all of this

B18A1 Engine is out!!!

I had a lot of cleaning to do.

JDM 94-95 B18B arrived from Hmotorsonline!

Trans was hella dirty

Lol. It took awhile to get those engine mounts in

First drive!

Blackworks radiator and green samco hoses

Installed :stuck_out_tongue:

Blue Ridge Parkway, stunning!

2011

Got some new tires and painted the letters.

HKS Hi-power cat back !! A good friend helped me find this used

New oil pan

Got tired of busting cv boots and the vibrations so I ordered some Raxles!

Converted to OBD1

Replaced both front wheel bearings and lower ball joints! Too much fun lol

I didn’t know that you could still buy these new! The company I bought it through, contacted Cusco and had it put together!!!

Probably one of my favorite pieces on the car. Took forever to save for this! Key!s deep dish and NRG quick release

Tons and tons of pictures. I know lol, but that happens when you love these cars.

Skunk2 Throttle body

Skunk2 Intake Manifold

Password jdm rotors and EBC red stuff ceramic pads

Finally! Ate so many Ramen noodles to save up for this at my last job!

Got super lucky with this find. BNIB floor mats that were being sold on g2ic.

2012

Almost up to date lol

Found an oem service manual in great condition

Getting ready for Import Alliance!

lol yeeeaaa

Found a 1990 GS with low miles to use as my daily! A/C was still r12, powersteering, everything worked. 118k miles I believe. Just needed a new transmission.

Time for that newer trans

Purchased some better axles from someone on G2IC

Ewww…

New clutch and had the flywheel resurfaced.

Mmmhhmm  Its in!

Original radiator started leaking, so I installed a Griffin because it had mounting points for both fans. Griffin rad was a nightmare though  warranty bs…

Before I sold it to a friend that Ive known for awhile! It would be his first honda!

Super Clean!

I owned this car for right at 1 year and sold it May 2013 to pick up a mint 1993 GSR…

2013

With my 1990 GS sold, which I was already missing a lot. A month or so later I was able to convince someone to sell me their 1993 Integra GS-R.
I was absolutey ecstatic to find this car and to actually be able to own it! The previous owner had it for 17 years and put only 20k miles on her. He was an older dude that just didnt have time for it anymore and knew that I would take care of it, as well as get some enjoyment out of it. So I picked the car up with right under 96k miles on it. Right off the bat, I could tell that it would need some cleaning, because it appeared to have been neglected for quite some time.

1993 Acura Integra GS-R , #52 , Aztec green pearl

That B17 !!! All power options work too

I knew that I would want to drive this car in the future with little to no downtime. So I went ahead and started taking it apart to clean it up. Timing belt, water pump etc. had already been done. I replaced the front cam seals, oil pan gasket, valve cover gasket and washers, vtec solenoid gaskets, distributor gasket and o-ring … lol Well I think you get the point…

Going back together! I was so ready to drive it!!!

All cleaned up!!!

How the engine bay looks now!

Under covers are finally clean

Replaced the 20 year old fuel filter lol

The original radio stopped working for some reason. I got lucky though and someone I work with used to own a GS-R

Random pictures from this year!
Lake Lure!! This place looks amazing. Chimney Rock, North Carolina.

Sending a year long bouldering problem called Crescent Crack :stuck_out_tongue:

Remember that concussion that I was talking about on the very first post? Well this is how I got my concussion. Two days before my birthday on October 2nd a Honda Pilot rear ended me while I was at a dead stop in traffic. I was hit so hard that it knocked me into the car ahead of me. So I am still recovering, as well as going back and forth with the insurance company, because they are trying to give me nothing for my car :frowning: wish me luck and Ill update whenever I can!

Nice find on the GSR. I wish mine still had that low of miles on it.

That sucks about the accident. I hope you recover well. Hopefully they’ll pay you out enough on it.

nice photos and to bad on the accident, i also hope your ok and recover well. a banged up teg is always sad

nice time line man. car can be replace, hope you get better soon.

Damn that sucks man… this thread was entirely enjoyable up until that last post.

I have a buddy who had the exact same thing happen… A Trail Blazer rear ended him, shoving him into the person in front of him… basically making him an accordion. This totalled out his B16b swapped EK, and like yourself, was in a bad position.

It will take some time, but don’t let up. The other driver was at fault… Make sure they take care of any medical, and of course the value of your car. It’s just sad that our cars value is dropping so drastically…

Best of luck with the situation man…

Thank you all! The support and the kind words really help me stay possitive, but I miss driving my Integra so much!
Since the GS-R is my daily for now; I noticed that my steering wheel would shake a lot while braking on the highway. So yesterday I used an on car brake lathe to turn my rotors and fix the problem  I believe the original rotors are still on this car to lol. FTW

Thanks for sharing! Sorry to hear about the accident I hope everything works out for you.

Really enjoyed going through your thread though the accident pics were painful.

Where did you order the paint? I could use some of that lol. Very nice pickup, that has to be the lowest mileage AGP out there besides jfarbers.

Thanks Deceptakhan! I actually found the paint on ebay. It was expensive though. If I remember correctly it was around $32 before shipping, but you can buy different sizes. It is very clean, but to me it definitely needs some work here and there. Im just glad that there is no rust and all of the power options work. I hope to have it like Jfarbers one day. I was using his engine bay as a reference to paint a few brackets and my heatshield.

-Drew

i would really like to find a gs-r as clean as yours to daily drive. Kudos on that and that sucks about the accident. best wishes for a speedy recovery.

Very Clean, love the attention on all the little details:up:

At times I get close of selling my car but when I see these threads, it motivates me not to. Need to uncover the teg and see how shes doing. Nice GSR though.

Thank you guys! The small details can be tedious but I think it makes a difference in the long run!

91akira - Uncover that thing and drive it. These cars are to much fun to sell
