I’m gonna buy my first da tomorrow. I dont have any pictures yet, but i will post as soon as I get her home. I have a db1 right now which i’ve had for about a year and a half. I really enjoy everything about that car so im hoping the da will be just as enjoyable. I dont know everything thats on the da but heres what i do know. the body is in great shape, no dents or anything.
Motor: Full b16a2 swap,dc 4-1 header, hondata s100 chipped p28 ecu, hasport cable to hydro kit, aem intake
Suspension: Skunk2 pro full coilovers (dropped around 3in)
Wheels: Rota c10’s
JDM one piece headlights
Theres other stuff im sure, but ill learn more when i get it. the chasis has 168k on it but the motor only has around 70k. im getting it for $2000 which i think is a pretty good deal
yea i just got her home like an hour ago. drove it 3 hours back to my house and it doesnt have any problems at all. the only thing is that acouple dash lights are dimming. im just gonna put some red led’s in. i think im gonna raise it up an inch too, it scrapes on everything
yea the guy had it listed for 3500 but i went ahead and asked him what he was looking to get and he said at least 2k. yea the wiring is all good. im not sure if he did the install himself but whoever did it did a good job. there arnt cheap parts on it anywhere either. theres really not much i would change, its pretty much done, although it has an automatic cluster in it so if anyone has a manual gsr or a jdm cluster for sale let me know.
Look into changing out your Distibutor Cap & coil for an external set up. Maybe you’re aware already, but the stock coils are really week and don’t usually last very long. If you don’t know where to look in the future they can easily leave you stranded somewhere.
Hahahahahahahahahaha. What is with all these completely wrong posts lately. I would really like to know how you came to your conclusion that stock coils are “week”. Honestly. In the 5 years I drove my DB1 (1 of which was with a swap), I never once had a problem with the stock distributor (it was the original 18 year old unit too). Not saying it wouldn’t have crapped out on me sometime, I know I was playing with fire running it that long, but a simple stock replacement of the coil would have sufficed. The stock ignition system is good to at least 500hp, so I highly doubt that a simple b16 swap would warrant an ignition upgrade.
ha!!! thats what i was thinking. i was wondering why he would randomly say that. i had one distributor go out on my db1, but thats cuase it was grinding really bad for about a week and i kept driving it till it finally started missing spark plugs and went out. thanks for the advice trinidad…but i think im good with my stock ignition.
Yes sir:salute: I actually am 20, although I dont see what that has to do with anything, but ok
So i’ve got some money I want to throw into it, but i’m not really sure on what yet. I might get some pars for my db cause it needs some tlc. Any suggestions? (I’m not gonna boost it)
