So after weeks of trying to figure out why my trans was leaking I finally got it. It was the oem honda seal wasn’t the right size, got one from napa and it worked great. It’s a longer story then that, but I don’t feel like getting into right now cause it’s late. If anyone cares though i’ll explain it further.
I went ahead and did some ricer painting today =] lol I re sprayed my calipers and did some touch up on some scratches
That’s crazy an OEM seal didn’t fit. Were you ordering it for the right transmission? I know there’s a tangible difference between cable and hydro seals
Is there really? I ordered the seal straight from honda for the 2000 civic si since i’m using the trans from that car. It didn’t work so I decided to ask for the part number on the seal for a 1991 integra since that’s the axle I’m using and they said it was the exact same part number (91205-PC9-711). It’s strange yes, but whatever. The one from napa looks identical to oem other than the grease that honda provides on it. It’s working and I’m not leaking at all now so i’m happy
Sorry it’s been a while. It’s actually depends on the axles your running. Here’s what I posted in imcnblu’s swap thread a while back (he is using a hydro transmission as well:
[QUOTE=mrpenny;2201402]As far as your questions go…
2. No problems with your stock axles and half shaft (although if they’re still the old stockers, I’d pick some new ones up from Raxles. Can’t help to replace those while you’re at it). But you’ll have to grab a new driver’s axle seal since the DA half shaft is a different size (40x56x8 for the DA and 35x56x8 for the DC). Having the LSD won’t make a difference, just be sure to use the right fluid

Car looks great as always man! Anytime you feel like getting rid of it, let me know! :salute:
Thanks man. lol I’m never gonna sell her. She’s my baby
Oh and interesting you mentioned the seal for the half shaft. I have a dc half shaft and dc driver side axle, but where the halfshaft goes into the trans i used the seal for the da not the dc and it worked fine. I think what you’re saying there is the seal depends on which halfshaft cause the size is different, correct? Strange my seal worked no problem on that side then. I find all this seal stuff very confusing lol I think it’s a dumb design in the first place. I think they could of made it to where that seal wasn’t needed, but i’m not an engineer so idk.
Had an oem wing sitting in my garage for months that a friend didn’t want. I set it on my car and decided to go ahead and try and make it look good. If I can make it look pretty again i’m gonna put it on my car =]
Did some initial block sanding
Started wet sanding it with 400, 800, and finally 1000 grit
Hard to see but it’s smooth as glass after that 1000 grit
Hanging up ready for the adhesion promoter and then the primer
Got it all primed
I’m gonna leave it as is over night and then tomorrow I’ll pull it off and lightly wet sand the primer. Then once that’s nice and smooth I’ll spray the R-81 (milano red) onto it, and then some clear
Here it is all finished =] (shitty cell phone photos, by shitty I mean old blackberry curve lol)
I’m gonna use some rubbing compound on it tomorrow, buff and wax it as well. I’ll take some good shots after that is done. It came out great though and for a rattle can paint job I’m very happy with it. Next step is to figure out exactly where the holes need to be drilled on my hatch
Buffed, waxed and ready to go on my car =] I don’t normally like to toot my own horn, but beep beep! lol For a rattle can paint job this thing came out sick

Thanks man. I spray paint a lot of things, (like my engine bay…and cause i’m too cheap to use a real gun lol) just doing it enough you learn a few techniques that make it easier. This wing though came out better than anything I’ve done and I think it was all the prep work. I’m someone who never thinks anything is perfect, so this could of been better, but I’m more than happy with how it turned out. I’m gonna try and get it on the car tomorrow and if so i’ll make sure to post some photos
I started off by figuring out where the holes needed to be, then used a small drill bit to make a pilot hole, then stepped the drill bit up until it got to the final size of 1/4 inch. Oh I also used a heat gun to heat the paint so it wouldn’t chip or crack
Next after all the holes were drilled we (a friend and I) laid it down on the car, crossed our fingers, and prayed everything lined up. This was the most nerve racking moment for me. All went well though and our measurements were spot on =]
Put the rubber gaskets in along with some small o rings. Hopefully that will keep the water out, which I’ll find out tomorrow when I wash the car
Everything lined up and looked good so we went ahead and bolted it down
I’m really happy with how it turned out. Everything lines up exactly how it should, the paint matches perfectly, and it in total only cost me around $35 for this =] I can’t wait to get out and wash the car tomorrow and see how it looks out in the sun
Me too, it needed something on the back end. It was looking really flat and boring. I just got tired of starring at it and thinking “yeah…that looks blah and blank”. I thought about getting a lip wing, or the rear visor, but then remembered i’m really broke lol. I still want a rear visor someday though. I appreciate it though man thanks. Hopefully this turbo set up will kick into gear this year. I’ve got the manifold, but that’s it for the moment. Nothing fancy just as basic set up. I’ll probably take 1000 pictures of that when it happens lol =]
Little video a friend did when he was testing his go pro. I kept getting up next to the camera cause I wanted to see what my car looked like rolling down the road
Made a second carbon fiber piece for the dash, but couldn’t get any decents photos of it so I just recored a short video of it that shows it more clearly
