You wouldn’t happen to still have all the Power Steering parts avail and for sale would ya?
I do but I’m sort of hanging on to it for now. It’s just sitting in a big box. Plus all my lines have been snipped.
Big time updates now, I gots me turbo bitches!
Garret T3/T4 .60 trim with a stage 3 wheel My chinese manifold is also in the pictures.
Also picked up a Misimoto aluminum half rad.
Getting closer!
Bought a Turbosmart Type 1 universal BOV today.
Question - Why throw on a huge .60 trim onto a 1.8L low compression low displacement motor, are you planning on having the turbo spool around 5,300 RPM or so? Even on a DSM .60 trims spool around 4700 or so running ~ 22psi. Also, the turbo is very much out of its efficiency range @ anything under around 20psi, any input as to this?
Not knocking your thread at all, I’m very interested in seeing your build in action, I was just wondering why people would throw a relatively large turbo and only run 8psi on it when you can slap a t25 on it, make a bit less power, but have a much more driveable car. MANY smaller turbos are actually MORE efficient at 8psi than this guy.
GL on the build.
i have a the same turbo, and im spooling around 3500-4200, and redline at 8k.
Earlier you said you just ordered your 50 trim, then posted a pic saying you just got your .60 trim. Which did you order? The .60 on the compressor housing is not the “trim” of the turbo, that’s just a standard E cover.
A 50 trim is an excellent turbo, great turbo! Bmwpride is pretty acurate w! The spool/boost characteristics of the 60 trim. We0kve done that turbo a few times on the B16s, a LS wouldn’t be much different.
My eariler post was only going off the for sale post the person had made about the turbo. It is a 60 trim though, that’s what I read when I ran the part number.
It might be a bit big but my plans are to build a new motor hopefully this coming fall/winter. So then I will be able to push more boost through this thing.
