whats up gen 2, i thought I’d share since I never really posted pictures of my car. I am now on my 3rd DA and its just simply unexplainable of why I and most of us on this site loves these 2nd gen gems.
I found this beautiful Horizon Gray DA in March of 2010 (3 months ago) body is in immaculate condition and interior is pretty damn mint. Here are some pics from when I first got the car and a few how she sits now. Shes gettin off to a slow start but no need to rush perfection.
2nd day after I bought her and this was how she looked.
This is now, Only mods I did was drop it with a temporary setup (not the cut springs route) clay bar’d the body to give it that new smooth and shiny paint from 17 years ago. And just engine maintenance. In need of rims but money and current situation doesnt allow me to do that so easily so it’ll do for now.
I’m not a fan of the side view mirrors.
She is a beauty though, clean. Nice find.
I like this pic.

dude, im not either. their UGLY! they came with the car
but thanks! im lovin every minute of it and i catch heads peekin at my car here and there hahah
those are ebay 1piece knockoffs. nice car dude but take your time then and build it with right parts. so far its cheap mirrors, headlights, shift knob that kill it for your car. Good find just keep it that way. dont be afraid to repaint faded trim, just mask off properly. good luck with build
headlights arent bad better output then stock but way cheaper then jdm at least theyre not projector type just take em apart throw in a retro and paint the ends by the fender and theyll be right back on your pipe haha jk… get rid of the mirrors tho. peace
yeah im no ricer guys, i didnt put those mirrors on. thats how it was when i got the car. i wish i could find a set of horizon gray side mirrors or just get black ones. and the headlights was an old gift from a buddy of mine a while ago from my first DA that i found sittin in my attic so i put them on because my stockers were garbage and couldnt see anything. the shift knob, well … i had it sittin around and thought i see how it was. the stock is a lil too light for me but im gonna switch back soon enough. and i DEFINITELY need to get that trim touched up, it makes my car look horrible but thanks man, keep on the look out!
Yeah! Way clean dude… reminds me of my Horizon Grey DA, even though its in primer right now lol.
What are your plans for the car? I’m diggin it all, minus the mirrors of course lol.
Clean exterior, clean interior… what’s not to love?
Some nice rims and new mirrors and it would be set.
my plans for this thing (some are long term and some are reachable short term)
throw a b16 head on it or a gsr swap
possible trubo
wire tuck
best bang for the buck legit coilovers
camber kits
diamond racing wheels or some OEM wheels
brake upgrade (havent looked it up but i definitely want to cause my brakes arent spectacular)
jdm one piece headlights and retro fit or just retro fit on the one pieces that are on now
type r style lip
thats just some quick things that i do want, it may change over time but as of right now thats kind of what im aiming for. i just want a nice mean lookin machine that has some balls to back it up. but i definitely want something simple with a little attitude to it if you get what im saying lol.
i want good handling, braking, a little more kick in the step than a LS lol. and a nice almost stock look. im tryin to keep this as clean as possible, i wanna keep this one because i wont ever find a deal like this. and i got the car for 1600!!
As far as the brakes go… Just get some reputable, OEM sized blank rotors and a set of proven brake pads (Im lovin my Axxis pads!) and it should be good to go from there… Our cars are light enough that the oem brake size is fine, just gotta get some good pads and rotors on there and it will stop on a dime.
Wheels, new mirrors and touch up that side moulding… other than that, the outside is basically finished imo. It doesnt take a whole lot to make the outside of a DA look mean.
As far as engine… There are way too many options lol. Have fun with it though, thats what we’re all in it for.
lookin good man, just a few things here and there and youl be fine, I agree with the brake setup get some good pads and rotors and you be set im running power slot rotors with AXXISS brake pads and my DB1 stops on a dime best thing ever lol
hey man id have to double check but I do have a set of 2dr mirrors id give u for cheap, im in Lancaster pa so llike 50 min from u, I have a ton of other oem parts to if u need anything just lmk 717-725-1989
Brakes? This is purely my opinion… But I believe that all we need on our DAs is a set of quality blank rotors and a set of quality pads and we’re golden.
I near that NAPA makes a good/quality OEM replacement rotor… If you look into those, see if they have a “NAPA Gold” product as that is their higher-end product line. I myself am rocking the Brembo blank rotors and LOVE them. But recently I am reading that people say they are made of a softer metal than oem, so they’re going to grab like a monster, but they will wear out faster as well. If I had to do it over again, I’d still go the route I did.
As far as pads? Lots of people like the Hawk pads, or EBC Greens. I opted for the Axxis semi-metallic pads. Like I said, after doing my brake system… Driving my EK with the stock disc/drum setup with its lack of braking power, is scary… Even driving my DC integra with the Autozone rotors and lifetime (aka cheap) pads does not compare.
I hear that stainless lines will also help, but I havent done that nor have I heard solid info on how exactly it helps out.
stainless lines help because they dont expand as much as rubber lines. and you’ll notice a big difference on 90-93 integra’s because most of them still have the original rubber lines which aren’t very new. i did this upgrade with ATE super blue dot 4 fluid before changing my rotors/pads and noticed a nice difference. brake pedal was stiffer and a more direct brake feel. afterwards installed some brembo blanks with hawk hps pads and i love this combo for a street car.
hmmm im kind of leaning towards the brembo blanks, about how much do they run for? i looked them up and see them for like $100 but i want to make sure i get them for the right price as everyone else did. and im definitely gonna look into changin my brake lines, thanks for the info tho guys. can somebody lead me in the right direction cause having good brakes will definitely make my DA experience a whole lot more enjoyable.
I would personaly run an OEM rotor. as unified stated, the brembo’s are a little softer and do bite better but at the expense of a shorter lifespan. on top of that, its not worth the trade off IMO.
Im running OEM blanks with hawk pads, work great for daily dutties with the occasional autocross day:up:
