my integra -- comments!

Current condition of car as of April 2010:

This thread is going to mark my progress with my 1992 Acura Integra LS. I am doing a complete restoration of the car, inside and out, to the best of my ability, as I am doing 99% of the work myself (paint, help, etc. account for what I don’t do). This thing won’t be slapped together in a few weeks, or even months. There is no time frame and I have no set budget in mind. This is my first car, and was my brother’s, so I wanna do everything right and make it virtually a new car. So this is gonna be a slow build, with progress determined by the amount of time I get to work on the car, funds, school, and sorta my social life, just a little bit. I’m posting it here as motivation for myself to keep updates constant and for any info/questions I need, but I’m hoping it’s a motivation to others as well. Enjoy yo!

History of the car:
-Used to be my brother’s back in the 90s
-Has been through a number of motor swaps (used to be auto)
-Was beat up a bit when he owned it
-Gave it to me in April 2009
-Started working on it in June
-B20Vtec that was in the car took a shit, got a B16A
-Still working on it

This was in summer 09

This was the build list from summer 09. It’s just the basics:

68mm throttle body
ARP head studs
ITR intake manifold
I/H/E
255 fuel pump
Oil catch can

Tranny:
YS1
Lightweight flywheel idk brand
Some aftermarket clutch
Short shifter

Exterior:
Side markers from Weak Sauce
JDM one piece headlights
Yellow fogs
Rear wiper delete

Interior:
Tenzo R seats
Sparco racing harness
Momo steering wheel

Suspension:
Ground control coilovers in front
Eibach springs on stock shocks in back

Wheels and tires:
17" Motegi 4x100 white
Yokohama tires

General overview of what I’m going for:
-Repaint Milano Red (interior, exterior, engine bay)
-Make the interior sexy for da beyotches
-Wire tuck
-Suspension setup for track (coilovers, camber, chassis reinforcement). I’m making this car my weekend warrior.
-Color scheme of red and gold/bronze, with some blue accents
-Stock B16A with I/H/E

Here’s when I first got her and what I’ve done since then:

Thumbs up. Good setup

thanks bro

nice job on dericing that thing man was it ugly

still has a ways to go with the de-ricing, but it is moving right along.

keep it up  should be a nice DA in no time.

Looking good. If they are original stanley clear sidemarkers they are probably off a jdm s2k seeing as how the sidemarkers from our integras and s2ks are the same. You can probably make some money off them so don’t throw them away!

ohhh thanks man! i’ve always wondered why they were clear

nice motor. it looks like that wing is going to be a bitch cuz it goes all the way to the qtr panel. gl dericing it

yeah i’ve realized that so i’m just gonna keep it. i don’t think it looks too bad and i don’t want to try to take it off. i have the stock though just in case

what kind of front upper strut bar is that in there?

^ tenzo r

update: car may have rod knock :frowning: i did a valve adjustment today; there was still a ticking noise that rose w/ rpms and high idle. and i still can’t find a bumper and hood!

edit*-pics:

my fender is gross haha. it’s from them damn sides

custom exhaust cut-out on right side. my failed attempt:

my friend’s successful attempt:

no one cares? :frowning:

anyways, this guy from a local car forum is selling a b16 swap for $1200. my motor has rod knock so i’m getting it :werd: i’m gonna rebuild the b20v, though, and drop it back in once its done

just taking off some stuff while i had some time in preparation for pulling the motor:

looks good bud keep up the good work gotta love people who save g2’s

nice, its a step in the right direction.

Nice! Great job!

How come you put the exhaust on the pass side?

Thanks a lot guys

Integ-four, when my brother had the car, he got a custom exhaust. So that bend where the muffler is on the stock is cut out and it’s just straight through

Got some updates! I got the B16 today for $1300. Came with P28 ecu, oil catch can, distributor, and a shitty ass DC Sports header. Should be puling the b20v soon and dropping this in. Then on with the rebuild

I got the B16 from a local guy who was going to do a project but didn’t have time. Some details on the motor:
-rebuilt with stock internals. Zero miles when I got it!
-ITR intake manifold
-obd1 conversion

Another DA saved from the pits of ricer hell

looks like a solid motor, I hope it runs a well as it looks

haha yeah i’m trying my best :bowthank:

the guy who rebuilt the motor did a build thread on it and from what i saw, it’s pretty solid. here’s the link actually: http://www.nyspeed.com/forums/showthread.php?t=62122
