my new ITR shiftage

Damn, Im still confused… I want something that I know is just gonna bolt right in… Or if there is a mod that needs to be done… I atleast wanna know what to expect… I called inlinefour and they wanna charge me 150 for a shift linkage for a DC… I told them about the ITR and they said 175 for shift linkage and 200 for linkage and shifter… Which should I go for??? I don’t wanna get one of those after market Shifters off of ebay… Is there any place on the web that will sell me this stuff cheap??? Shed some light on that… Give me some sites… Thanks…
Jo

Holly crap dude! I pointed you to this tread from your original question since it should be clear after reading pg1 of this thread. Pay attention to what Preston is saying and this should happen -

If you are totally lost after reading this thread, then I suggest purchasing an entire OEM DA linkage new. Sorry, I just don’t understand what isn’t clear.

4sd4dr, I may have confused some people, so Im going to clarify. Yes, the shift rods for the G2/G3 vs. the ITR are slightly different. This is why I said that if you just want to buy the shift rod for an ITR along with the ITR shifter, you can use this with your current G2 stabilizer bar. I didnt recommend this, but I highly recommended getting a complete ITR/G3 setup, i.e. ITR shift rod, G3 stabilizer bar, and ITR shifter. I dont recommend using old G2 parts since they are at least 14 years old. Hope that helps now. I’ll edit my other post to make it less confusing.

nah man, I think it might have also been my fault…

I used the ITR change/shift rod with my stock G2 stabilizer bar. I dont recommend it either for a few reasons.

 • its harder to reinstall
 • its not designed for hte ITR or G3 change rod
 • there can be binding, i experienced some.

So, if you plan to do this swap you will need

 • #2 (lever - 54101-ST7-Z00 x1 @ 53.75),
 • #4 (plastic bushing - 54105-692-010 x2 @ 2.59),
 • #5 (plastic sleeve - 54107-SA0-010 x2 @ 3.29),
 • #12 (joint collar - 54117-SD4-000 x1 @ 8.67),
 • #24 (o-ring - 91303-HA0-004 x4 @ 0.83),
 • #14 (change rod/extension rod, shift rod - 54301-SR3-G00 x1 @ 76.64)

Thats $154.14 + shipping from http://AcuraParts247.com (not sure if this link will go to the correct place or not - acuraparts247.com - This website is for sale! - car parts Resources and Information. should go to the page with all the shit on it.)

Some pointers when you install

 • Dont over tighten the bolt that conntects the lever to the change rod, I did and it couldnt shift.
 • Be sure to lube everything that moves.
 • Buy a new "bitch" pin, you dont really need to but its cheap insurance.
 • Take your time assemblying the shift mechanism, I had a hell of time, I used grease to hold all the smalls bushings nad washers in place, then slapped it togehter.

Once you get it installed, you’ll absolutely love this thing, I do.

Quick question for you dudes…

First of all, I just wanna let some of you know that I search for AVID and didn’t come across anything… So spoon feeding would be greatly appreiciated!!!

Ok, I was shopping on EBAY and came across a AVID shift linkage for a DC and/or EG… Here is the link…

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/AVID-SHIFT-LINKAGE-HONDA-CIVIC-ACURA-INTEGRA-B16A-GSR_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ33736QQihZ009QQitemZ190003155579QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW#ebayphotohosting

Soo, would this Shift linkage work perfect on my DA? It seems cool… It’s brand new, running for the same price as a OEM Linkage… Just a quick Question… Not sure if I wanna go aftermarket… I wanna keep it OEM… What do you think???

TIA Guys.

Jo

Ive never heard of anything bad from Avid, but I’d rather go OEM.

OEM is the only way to go if youre looking for a part that needs to be precise. In this case, the linkage MUST be a certain length or it can damage your tranny internally. I would never trust aftermarket for a shift linkage. That is my 2 pennies.

Except hasport.

HASport has been doing this for a long time, and they make great products. But they dont make replacement parts. They make things like shorter/longer linkages for CRX’s, EG’s, etc, for the cars using B or H series swaps. If they made replacement parts for the DA, I would have included them as a good source to buy from, but sadly, they dont. AVID on the other hand is fairly new at linkages, and until I hear that they are lasting a long time, I would stay away from them. The joints they use for the shift rod dont look like quality parts.

I plan on doing this conversion as well, but as far as the shifter goes I used to have an ITR shifter that I modified to fit the DA linkage and I liked it alot but have since replaced it with an evasive motorsports shifter and I like it much much better and they are only $40 shipped. The ITR and evasive are for sure the best shifters I have ever used, by far

jyour shifter is fine… i have an ITR lever and its the same way

OK dudes, I’m back!

I just picked up my ITR Shift Linkage off some dude across town. $120!
Now, the install! I get confused with the stabilizer bar for the G2’s and ITR’s… I received the full ITR Setup. Do I need to buy a G3 Stabilizer Bar? What mod would I have to make to get this Shift Linkage/Stabilizer Bar/Shifter/ES Shifter Bushings in with no real complications?? Would it be a piece of cake or will I find some trouble doing this? Your Spoon feeding will be greatly appreciated.

TIA,

Jo

Its a piece of cake. I used the g2 stabilizer bar, but i think the g2 might actually work a little better…

preston can you do this setup for me

Hey, I did the ITR Linkage swap. It came out like the mmtegra… Did anyone ever come up with a solution for this??? If so, do tell. I didn’t install it personally, but my buddy put it in. Did he miss something??? I’m using all ITR Linkage, stabilizer bar, shifter, shift knob, stabilizer bushings, etc. Can anyone shed some light???

Jo

Ever fix this?

Boy, do I feel stupid… I thought it was messed up, but it was actually because the car was up on jacks. It’s a must for all g2’s… I’m loving it. Thanks to all of you…

Jo:jerkoff:

Thats good news thou

Yeah I fixed it. Kept the ITR linkage bar in, but swapped back in the original stabilizer bar. The problem was pretty obvious, the so-called ITR stabilizer bar I got was longer than it should have been causing it to sit both farther back and at a slight slight angle.

Now its sitting pretty in the right spot and it feels like there is even less play then there was before, perfect.

My problem was that I just got some shady used ITR shift linkage parts. If anyone wants a pic, I’ll post a couple.
