what is SSAC a company that sells cheap turbo parts? :squint:

ss auto chrome

http://www.ssautochrome.com/level.itml/icOid/1349

well if you check there website, my ram horn one is the most expensive one they have (besides a top mount) and unlike all the others its made out of 321 stainless. also may i say that the WG flange was ported along with the turbo flange and the block ports, all from the factory. its also got a built in brace on the WG. this one has a “lifetime warranty” also, i dont know how they are on their warranty claims. but hopefully ill be ok with this one.

wheres your cross member at?

stock location

here ya go!

ohhh i dont see it…thats why i asked…any pics of your intercooler piping setup? what size intercooler are you running?

Has nothing to do with the boost level, it’ll break anyway.

i hate to say it, but i think ssautochrome is starting to take knowledge of the fact that they are (or at least WERE) selling cheap junk. because here lately, i’ve seen (on other forums and internet sites) that they are selling some pretty decent products. manifolds included. would I buy one? probably not, but i wouldn’t go telling people that SSAC stuff is crap anymore. i’ve seen some pretty decent stuff lately from them. and some decent welds on the manifolds lately. i went fully custom on my manifold, (which i’m STILL fucking waiting for, i sent it back to the shop because its not gonna fit the way i asked it to) and it will be braced, and i’m gonna have them make a heat shield for it as well. AR Fabrications in winchester is making my manifold, and they are pretty good at what they do.

but back on SSAC, i’ve seen some manifolds that people are saying they are pushing pretty high boost (15psi+) out of t3/t4 turbo’s. and have been doing that for about 6 months. with NO problems. so i’d lean toward the fact that they have caught wind of their bad reputation, and turned there shit around. again, I wouldn’t buy anything from them, maybe a down pipe or something (if i wasn’t goin custom) but i WON’T call it junk anymore. i’ll just tell people, if they ask, that there are MUCH better options out there. a bit more expensive, but MUCH better.

how much was your turbo rebuild kit? and where did you get it?

an ebay store called g-pop shop. they have AMAZING customer service and will tell you how to do the whole rebuild. the full kit was only like $90 shipped.

by the way the manifold is still holding up good and the thing just keeps looking cooler every day. tomorrow ill put some pics up, its like all bronze with a tint of purple in it now. it looks amazing!

I will be running an SSAC mani and dp as well on my turbo setup. I agree, ssac was complete garbage when they first hit ebay, but after looking at the products I recieved, they don’t look bad at all, especially for the price. Unfortunately my turbo wont fit with it, but I’ll just have to do a little work on it and all will be well. Mine is the “twisted ram horn” manifold, and I think it looks pretty cool! Seems solid as hell too, made of the 321 stainless.

You can’t look at the welds and think they will last because the welds look good. Even their old stuff, their welds looks great. But they still broke. In the end, it’s still the same thin gauge metal.
