Well recently I took my head off to have it resurfaced because I was starting to overheat bad and thought maybe my headgasket went. When I got it back I installed it but when I started my car every couple seconds a waterflow of coolant would come out of the radiator(shooting up about 12"-24" high…pressurized)…(i was trying to bleed out the air bubbles) to anyone that knows there engines really well would automatically think a cracked head or sunk sleeve, so I took the head back to have it pressure tested and the machine shop told me that they couldn’t get the head to leak keeping it on the machine for over an hour at 60 PSi, so my head is fine. my next step was the block(which I didn’t want to deal with because GE has never had a sleeve problem with there new design “HD” in the past 5 years or more). last year I had GE sleeves installed. might I say it is some of the best machine work I’ve ever seen. I called GE and the guys over there want me to send them the block so they can pressure test it to see what’s wrong and deck it, or whatever else they need to do.
so in all, GE is a stand up company so far, I will keep you guys updated. they say they stand up for there sleeve work so we’ll see. I just removed everything off my block and planning to get it to them this week. anyone else experience something similar to this? care to give me some insight… the block and head will both be pressure tested and will be using OEM headgasket when it comes back so I’m hoping no more problems in the future.
