My turbo build w/questions

well I have a 91 gs integra which I bought a year ago. As soon as got it, I knew I wanted to boost it. Well, in a trade I got a T25 turbo from a 300zx, no shaft play what’s so ever. 2 days ago I picked up a greddy cast iron manifold for $45 and last night I picked up a PWR fmic messuring 26-28" for $60. i’ll be purchasing the intercooler pipe kit from ebay. i’ll also get my self some dsm injectors for fairly cheap.

what system should I go with, emanage?? what’s the most affordable and reliable comp out there?

will I need to purchase a fuel pump?? i’m looking for only 7 psi out of this small snail.

I also have a fidanza lightweight flywheel, exedy stage 1 clutch and pressure plate.

the engine it self has a lot of miles, but it runs really strong and I don’t know if a rebuild was done on it in the part. i’ll get the compression and leakdown tests done on it before anything goes on. I don’t plan on doing anything big on the engine it self.

Is an exhaust system necessary and how does the stock system fail?

i’ll keep u guys updated and post some pics once I get home

fuel pump yes
exhaust yes
covert to obd1 and tune on crome.

what about BRE and turbo edit to save the trouble of converting to obd1? I also want to use dsm injectors and they need no modification with obd0

the car

the stuff already got

cant wait

You can get away with using just an afc if you stay at low boost

You can get away with using just an afc if you stay at low boost

why skimp on something so important?

What seat rails are those? Custom?

Your not really skimping it’s a low boost set up option thats been proven for years. I wouldnt say to use it if he was going any higher then that. What matters the most is who tunes that AFC. I have run a AFC on a few cars with no issues

  1. 300hp sr20 13psi
  2. 190whp turbo 20th an edition twincam ZC 7PSI

I wouldn’t use a AFC on a honda when there are so many free tuning options that work better than the AFC. you need to get a walbro fuel pump. OBD0 is fine. turboedits been used on OBD0 for years. nothing wrong with that program. who’s going to tune this for you? what engine is this? vtec or non vtec?

yea, the rails are custom. The engine is a completely stock B18a. I still dont know whos gonna do the tunning, i’ll call a few reputable shops here locally and see if they can do it. I’ll keep u guys updated

exactly, you can be tuning a honda for less than an afc costs.

never used turbo edit so I can’t speculate, but I hear good things on hmt. I use crome on my 92 and it’s pretty simple.

450’s are drop in on the obd0 cause it has a resistor box built in to the harness. It would still be there if you convert to obd0, so you’d just need a jumper harness, ecu, and a distributor. Still alot of work if you don’t already have the parts lying around.
