Like it says i need to make a down pipe for my car and i am having trouble. It is a 1990 acura integra with stock b18. So i am running a blox mani, garret 60trim with a 4bolt exhaust flange. I have my compressor side of the turbo on the driver side of the car. I am running my i/c through the frame rail. Now i need a downpipe and i tood it to a couple local shops around me and they all tell me that they cant make the bend??? And i cant find one for sell that is for this setup. So any ideas, should i flip the turbo around so the compressor side is on the passenger side??? I also remember reading something about the blox manifold being meant for a turbo that has a 5 bolt exhaust housing??? LMK what you guys think!!
find a shop that has skills. ls block, stock crossmember, 3" downpipe with plenty of space.
if i had lots of money to have someone fab me something up i would just buy a good manifold to begin with, seein as i am on budget set up i cant do that, thanks for no help
you obviously have money to get a downpipe fabricated if you said you went to a couple shops and they all said they couldn’t make it. just find a shop that can it’s not that hard. it has nothing to do with your manifold. lots of people use the blox manifold with custom downpipes.
btw with that attitude you wont get any help
i meant i dont have the money for a setup like the one u posted, and i went to what everyone says is the “best shop” in the area and they told me they couldn’t do it. And it is kinda hard because i cant always just trailor a car to a shop and then get there and they tell me they cant do it. I didnt mean to sound like an asshole but just telling me to find a better shop doesnt help me much.
there is absolutely no shop in your area that does custom piping work?? where do all the guys go to get their cars done?? on our cars you dont really have a choice to get a custom downpipe with the crossmember in the way and different manifold/turbo setups. i paid 150cnd for my downpipe (posted above). good luck
pretty sure it has less to do with the actual work and more to do with the fact they arent suppose to do pre cat exhaust work. at least thats what i was told many a time. best to go to a custom shop (making race cars and such) and ask them. if not, you could call up a few of the shops that offer shelf turbo kits. a few of them might do the work for you if you send them your manifold.
one that comes to mind is go-autoworks.com or spooling-performance. he (go-autoworks) will do the work, if he has the manifold to do the work off of. well, if he has a tester car to test fit the dp on anyway.
here is the shop number: 334 467 4171
and a link to where he says he does custom DPs: http://www.go-autoworks-store.com/gocutudo.html
he is on this site also, just not sure how much he posts or how often he is on.
i hope this helps…
there are two big shops both of them told me they couldnt.
Thanks for the number!!
they probably dont want to get in trouble. did you know you can point to them if you got pulled over for having illegal custom parts under your hood? well you can. just a side note. this only applies to shops that actually installed the parts, not make them.
well at least in cali…
pretty sure its a federal law that they cant do pre-cat work on a car.
your welcome for the number. give the guy a call. he will work with you.
