i allready searched and got nothen. i know you guys will say scrap it or sell it to get a chip and what not but i really want the safc. i was wondering if somone could give me their information on where they have the safc settings on their car. i have a b18b t3 turbo on 10 psi. when i got it from the shop it was good but soon ended up smoking. the smoke ended from burning to much fuel. i then got a red line series jg head, and i put it all back together. it starts now and then but it doesnt really get gas. the fuel pump is good and the fuel filter is brand new so my two things i got from searching are… that its probably the intake manifold and its components or the tuning. my best guess is the tuning of course mainly cuz the guyz from the shop dont know shit… and i live in a place where their are no dynos and or real import racers. so i wish to get the settings from somone who has a safc so i can get it moving a little better so i can drive to seattle (5 1/2 hours away) to get it tuned but im afraid it will shut off on the way. please help and thanks.
…Xeno chime in please.
Um…quit it just quit. Download Turboedit and ECU Control. Both are FREE programs. Once you open the programs you will forget all about that safc. I have heard that those things mess with your timing and I know for a fact that if disconnected from power you lose your tune.
My advice…
Get yourself a junkyard Obd0 ecu and chip it yourself.
or
Get a already chipped obd0 ecu from Xenocron.
Buy a wideband. Again Xenocron will hook you up.
Tune it yourself! Dont be scared, sack up! I was also intimidated by self-tuning, but after you open the programs and play around you will realize it isnt a big deal. Just bring your A/F to a safe ratio across the tach and you’ll be good. 5 and a half hours to get tuned?! …Helllll No.
if you don’t want to run a chipped ecu atleast try and pickup a wideband so you can tune yourself.
no ignition with safc, fuel only. No datalogging either. datalogging is pimp. Ecu control has these autometer looking guages already in the program. Also open source 3D fuel mapping…so sweet.
i allready know all these things. the problem is that i allready have it. i didnt know much until now and its a little too late. i dont want to spend more money then i have to even tho im pretty sure i’ll still need to spend some in the future cuz its going to give me problems but i just want it to run so i can get it tuned really well. i spent to much money on this project car (wasnt a project car, ended up being one) so i just need it to run well. i plan to get it chipped but thats still in the future. not to long from now tho. Oh and i do think the timing does change so i still have to retard the timing but i heard you dont have to if you just get it chipped and tuned right. is that true? either way thanks for the help.
