I am hoping someone will be able answer my questions. You see I am a 1990 Acura Integra. Now the car has about 250,000 km. That is right you are not seeing things. I have done a compession test and the result was sweet. I have done some miner upgrades. For example I have added a K&N air filter, Megna Flow muffler system and I have increase my pipes to 2 1/4 with a high flow catalytic converter. I have also chance my Thermostat to open at 68 degrees. I am toying with the idea of adding a turbo or a twin turbo to my car. But I am not sure what I need to do or how to go about it. No having said that, I do understand how a TURBO SYSTEM WORKS. I have read some stuff on the net that suggest all Integra’s engine must be reinforce before adding a Turbo. I am not sure what is meant by reinforce. I am also not sure what size of turbo to add and what kind of power I can expect from a turbo system. I have been told that a T3 is best suited for my needs. Basically I would like my car to be a street performer. I am hoping you all can gave me some ideas or at least advise me on what I would need to do.
You should go to Barnes and noble and buy or read the book Maximum Boost by Corkey Bell. Great info inside that book and you my friend, will understand the basics and physics about turbos.
Agen2integra3- well said, I bought that book too, and refer lots of peeps to it.
RoCbAyBeE- First off you gotta know how fast you want to go and how much your willing to spend to get there. It isn’t cheap. My honest opinion is to save up at least 3500 Canadain and you could put something together with some good reliablity. But find a spare motor (just the bottom end, maybe $150 ) and build it up on the side so it doesn’t effect your wallet all at once.
