New Battery brace

@Nervoso I have one left. Hit me up on nfulfx@gmail.com and I’ll take care of ya.

I’m probably going to remove those forward-most holes because they appear to be too weak to support anything. I will keep that model available should someone want it, but it will need to be improved.

Future ones will not have it. Will post pictures when available.

I have printed this new model and it is SUPER STURDY (I also increased the thickness 1mm). It takes a very long time to print though. It could probably use some fine-turning to get a happy medium between strength and print-time. There may be variances in future orders but I will keep you updated here.

I’ve made about 10-15 of these braces. I’ll happily entertain any feedback and critiques of the design to make it better. Feel free to reply here.

I do all these parts for G2IC – these are for YOU. I don’t make money off this, so feel free to provide suggestions.

Is the updated version for sale?

Yes, it is. All the new prints will be that version #4 above. (BABR-04 grey pic above)

I completely forgot to update those pictures. I’ll have to do that with the next print. It’s only available in black ABS.

If anyone is interested in previous versions shown here, please reply. They’re just sitting here as extras. You can see the difference in the design, but perhaps it will suit your needs. Asking $25 shipped to US addresses (no hardware).

Happy to answer questions.

  • The grey one has sanded primer on it, and is one of the earlier designs.

  • The bottom right red one is a poor print from when I was paying a print shop to do these. It’s a bit warped on one side but probably hard to discern from the photo. Just make an offer for that one if you want to try it out, but I need at least $10 to mail it.

Update:

  • Two sets of nuts are being included now: regular hex and flanged nuts. Use only one set to secure the Jhook to the brace.
  • Brace is tested on group 25 and 51 batteries. Other batteries may work but may require modification to the hooks.
  • Make sure the hooks adequately engage the indentations on the underside of the battery “table/floor”. This affects the angle that it goes through the brace. You may have to adjust the angle (make it larger - more like an “L”) if you need it more upright to accommodate the battery you have.

I’m putting the battery brace out of stock for about a week until I fix the issue with obtaining new filament. It got delayed or lost in shipment or something.

I received the new filament yesterday. I’ll make these available in the next few days.

I can make these in silver or black currently.

I’ve given away the battery braces. Those extra colored ones aren’t available anymore.
