Well to start out, my names Dallas and i live in Cedar Rapids, iowa. The car scene here is slowley dieing but it will always be with me. Before i picked up my recent DA9, i had an LS/Vtec 91 EF 4 door. I sold that and picked this up from a buddy for a great price. This car is originally from california and has ZERO rust, and is 100% stock except k&n drop in filter, B20B cams, and CF hood. This car is my daily driver and is rairly beat on. the driver side seat has a nice size tear, otherwise id give the interior a 8 out of 10. A/C, PW, PS, sunroof all works! A/C needs a recharge but still blows cold.

Heres the valve cover i just painted:

looks good and clean bud keep us updated

Ok, so my DA water pump and tensioner is makin noise… So a buddy of mine has a brand new in the box vtec 22 tooth water pump and tensioner that he said he would give me for free. All i got to do is buy a timing belt. My question is will the vtec water pump work on a stock LS and if so what timing belt do i use, GSR or LS?

i believe its a different water pump from a B18a1.

Yes, they are different. thats why im wondering if it will work of not? LS is 19 tooth and vtec is 22 tooth, if i put an LS t-belt on with a vtec water pump will it make the over heat, not run right, blow up? lol if so then i guess im gonna go spend money on an LS water pump

if you’re revving at stock redline i would use the appropriate water pump. technically you shouldn’t have a problem but they designed it that way for a reason.

nice start def should drop it

Def plan on it, lol. Well i got some info off HT and im gonna try to use the vtec waterpump and a 94^ GSR timing belt. They said it should work, crossfingers. if not then ill try the LS timing belt… If that STILL dont work then ill get the LS waterpump. Sounds like a pain to save a few bucks, but if the vtec waterpump is free why not give it a try…

My plans for the car are as follows:
B20Z
J1 trans, (in my basement)
good clutch and LW flywheel
ARP rod bolts and head studs
boost that set-up on 10-15lbs

If i got that set-up all done, id just drive it after that. Just do little stuff… opinions?

Super clean for stock… Keep updating!

Picked up a Ralco RZ single bend shifter for free99!!! since the cars a virgin, i put it up on ramps, took my time and got it installed in no more than an hour, lol. everything went so smooth it was almost scary. Ill post some b4 and after pics in a bit. I also put the new valve cover on with my areospeed adjustable cam gears. next thing i want is to rebuild my J1 and get a better clutch and flywheel

I’m assuming you did the water pump?

I was just going to say, match the belt to the pump.

If running a vtec pump, use a vtec timing belt. Vice versa with the non-vtec pump.

Nice ride man

lol, yea did the pump last month sumtime… spent the money and just bought an OEM LS pump off inlinefour.com… and an OEM T-belt.

bored before work, thought id post up some interior pics: leave comments

Pretty clean interior, man.

<3 that ralco and the GSR shifter knob…i have the ralco in my maxima and love it. i need to get a ralco for my DB and get some new bushings, my shifting is sloppy!

thx guys, I love the ralco, at first i thought it would cheesy and ebayish… not anymore, its SO smooth

ordered a single sided radiator… When it gets here all have to post up pics to get some suggestions on how to mount it. Thinkin bout pullin the a/c while im there, simply cuz next year itll be boosted, and its $65 to recharge the system but its already gettin cold out and i wont use it in the winter… idk, any suggestions?

keep it…

OAN i cant stop thinking about that ralco STS and GSR knob drools

so clean, reminds me of my '90 gs. ditch the ac! windows down ftw

i think i might pull the a/c… engine bay will look much better, plus by the time summer rolls around next year itll be close to gettin boost. Anyway, radiator came in today finally!!! Its an ebay one, but had it pressure tested at a radiator shop here in town and it tested good… def worth the extra $10 to get it tested. lol. ill take some pictures along the way, itll prolly go in this weekend.
