Well, took the day off work to put the radiator in… it was too nice of a day to pass up. wasnt nearly as hard as i thought it would be, got it done in a couple of hours… test drove it for about a half and it got hot, so i got home and realized it had an air pocket at the top of the lower radiator hose. Bled the system and shes perfect. Havin all this roome in the engine bay REALLY makes me want to get this thing boosted already. anyway, on to the pics:
The crack that started to grow!
Before:
Pulled the fans… notice the discolored radiator neck, lol
the fans have seen better days, the bearings in the smaller one were gone
Radiator was missing some fins
i “tried” to fix it with JB weld… a few times hehe
radiator and a/c condensor pulled, this makes me want some traction bars
a/c compressor pulled, its dirrty but looks a lot more open
saved: condensor, bracket and compressor
had to flip the blades and wire it up backwards to be a pusher fan
modified one of the upper mounts to work with the new radiator
fan was a tight fit!
almost done
mounted up pretty flush with the upper support, i loved it
just a lil update, my stock clutch is startin to take its toll… still grabs, just a lil limp wristed. Also got ahold of a pherable chipped P06, next is 4 wire o2, and obd1 distributer. hopfully get it converted to obd1 b4 winter hits. Also pickin up a set of LS meshies for $100 w/out tires. Started workin some hours so should make some more money too. Oh, i decided to try and clean up some of the vacume lines on the IMF, i dont have any “before pics” but i be sure to post up some pics tomorrow. My buddy was scraping his 2000 F-150 and i stole the horn off it!!! Me and my friends here in town always make fun of the honda horn, so i decided to “update it”, lol.
very clean man . reminds me of one 92 that I used to have in white also, and super clean, I got it for trading my beloved (92’ db2 gsr), then after a b16 swap on the LS it got stolen that same night, and found it striped to death with no motor/trans, interior ,wheels, and no freeking steering wheel. But am glad to see another one so clean like yours it’s such a rarity now-a days . I’ll vouch for you on your build man.
so heres some pics of when i cleaned up the vacume lines… next thing is to get rid of the ugly thing on the IMF, with the big vacume port. anybody know what that is?.. anyway, on to the pics:
a/c > boost IMO i’d find a a/c compatible turbo kit if i were you…summer is hot as hell. OAN this is the first time i saw the VC SMFH. one small thing i would do while you still have your stock header…take the OEM shield off and paint it satin black…give it a cleaner oem look
thx for the comments guys… and the VC is actually startin to turn colors but a buddy of mine does some wicked nice airbrush, so idk… well see what happens. Oh, and yesterday i went thru and got prices on all my turbo stuff and seems just the kit will run about $2k… kit is as follows:
Godspeed ramhorn manifold (will be heat wrapped)… $300
Precision PW39 wastegate with 15lb spring… $235
Precision turbo- 5431B .48 A/R T3 4 bolt… $650
Mishimoto intercooler 28 x 7.5 x 2.5… $220
R/C 440cc injectors… $320
walhbro 255… $110
converted to obd1 and tuned on crome
Thats not including little odds and ens tho, my goal is to run my LS with rod bolts and headstuds on 15lbs and im shootin for 250-300whp range
Sounds good bro .I’m really feeling those cam gears, their are very aggressive looking. But I would try to invest in a hondata s200 or 300 . It just some insurance for your motor since you are going to put all of that money into your car. it will be cheap insurance in the other hand, if you ask me, But hd s200 will do fine for your power goals, unless you want to tune it your self later on but in the mean time that should be ok for now. That’s just my opinion , but I know either way you’ll manage just fine.
Basically, everyone here in town is either a V8 guy or they drive cars like WRXs and Talons which wrx and talon all rely on their turbos, am i right? Their sayin that turbo is to big for a honda and it wont spool till 4500rpm. I think itll be fine. what do u guys think?
