Well i have a question but before i can get to that this is my setup, i have ITR pistons the P73A0 milled port front and back of the head, 5 angle valve job, short ram intake , AEM cam gears and a J1 Tranny just in case if any of this info helps i heard i cant go any higher than a 41 shot of dry system.Well i want more i heard i cant go any higher that a 45 shot cause i may have a bit to much high CP, i really want to bump it up to at least a 57 or 60 shot do ya think is safe or not?
hello anyone?
Of course you can run more. just retard the timing a bit.
The compression isnt the problem, its the cast pistons. If you have the fuel, spray a 75 shot all day long. I was spraying a 100 shot on a high compression motor for a bit, though it had forged internals. If you wanna spray any more than a 75 shot, id go to a direct port setup due to the sheer fact every cylinder will get the same amount of fuel/juice. Staying out of detonation is obviously key when spraying any amount.
Do the following:
Run some cooler plugs
Ensure you have an adequate fuel system
Pull back timing
Then test it out. Don’t go nuts and jet up to 300hp or anything, but use a realistic safe jet. If on the off chance you hear any detonation or weird stuff while spraying stop right away.
Everything should be OK, but when you are done your first good run pull over and pull out a spark plug and take a look. Look for any peppering on the plugs. Assuming they are OK, you can probably safely run that size shot, although it might not be a bad idea to check the plugs periodically after that.
My friend sprays the crap out of his ol’ B18A and the ol’ girl hasn’t missed a beat. We have it jetted around ~60-65hp because my friend still hasn’t shaken that F&F Danger to Manifold, floorboards falling off mentality. Although oddly that doesn’t stop him from occationally (and retardedly) spraying at like 1500rpm and making me hella nervous. :uhoh:
