Nitrous suggestions

Since there doesn’t seem to be as much “useful” information floating around here about nitrous as there is turbo, could you guys help me out? I’m wanting to get a 60-70 dry shot, 10lb bottle, purge, etc. What shot should i get for a motor with stock internals? I already have 450cc injectors, obx fpr, and colder plugs. Also do any of you guys have any tips on ignition timing?

msd has a nice digital ignition retard box for pretty cheap. personally i don’t like dry nitrous. just buy a nice nitrous express or cold fusion wet nitrous kit and purge. start off with a 50 shot and just keep going up untill you get the hp you want. i wouldn’t run much more than 150 shot on stock internals. what in the hell are you running 450cc injectors for?

Im running 450s because i never got around to getting stock ones back in after i de-turbo’ed my motor.

Well you could get a map for those 450s and tune for juice that way. It’ll also help you pull timing as u add more. It’s actually not a bad idea if your going with a dry kit

i was going to suggest that, but i wouldn’t trust using your ecu to add fuel unless you use a standalone with nitrous settings in it like aem ems. i will be running a dry direct port nitrous setup with aem ems retarding my timing and adding my fuel.

u dont need standalone to add fuel… Uberdata isnt considered standalone and it works fine with my kit… i just added fuel in the WOT 0 vac to level my AF`s out with a 65shot, 1 step colder plugs and a safe A/F… oh ya no ignition retard… and if anyone doubts this, ive been running it for 2 years…

so you have a normal nos or zex dry kit right?

i hate the way ZEX works with their TPS and Purple box…

i go for the NOS and NX dry kits… yes that is what i have. that kit and a wideband…

sorry buddy, nx doesn’t sell a dry nitrous kit. the nos dry kit is alright, nothing special. the zex kit is the best dry kit you car really buy, the tps switch is great. sorry if you don’t like purple. it never hurts to have an egt or wo2 tho.
sidenote: with my setup you do need a standalone to add the fuel because it is not a typical dry nitrous system. it has nothing to add the fuel for you. you can use uberdata, because you have a fuel pressure regulator built into your nos nitrous kit that raises fuel pressure.

a FPR built in? wow… haha… and no i have a NX kit that i got with a dry nozzle and since sylinoid… thought they did my bad, i must b retarded then…:gunleft: anyways let me tell u… a built in FPR wont do shit since hey, i dont have one… and let me know what r u running, what setup… cause ive ran direct port dry and wet for someone that doesnt understan that means that there r only dry nozzles for nitrous in the IM, and no fuel… ok, ok… and still i want to know what is soo special about ur kits to where u need standalone,… tell me cause there is nothing i could think of that makes u need stand alone, unless it was a gazzillion shot and u had stock injctors. Bahahaha…

on a sidenote here: the NOS dry kit it is a bottle to intake kit…no fuel touching of anysort… so i think ur miss informed, do u have a 100shot of nos and ever blown a weld on ur intake?

…3 things

  1. you are overreacting
  2. learn how to type out sentences better
  3. Honda engines do not come out of the factory with the ability to use nitrous - standalone fuel management would be ideal

sorry if i don’t answer all of your qestions. i own an nos dry kit, zex dry kit, zex wet kit, and the one i was talking about was a nx 6 cylinder direct port kit with cold fusion dry nozzles. i understand my setup is only spraying nitrous into my intake manifold, but i run an aem ems. it lets me create nitrous fuel and ignition maps, so the injectors will add the fuel. this means if you run a big shot you need larger injectors.
i’m guessing you just run rich all the time so when you spray nitrous you are stoich? on a motor that runs stoich when not spraying, you need to add fuel some how. how much nitrous are you spraying?
i’m pretty sure you are the one mis-informed. i own a nos dry kit, it has a regulator on it. maybe the bootleg nitrous setups you built don’t but any off the shelf dry kit will have one. heres a picture from the install instructions for their dry nitrous kit. if you remove #11 from the system you will run lean. please post pictures of your setup. maybe also post in Post up your big nitrous honda !!! Searched !!! - Honda-Tech - Honda Forum Discussion explaining to them your idea on spraying just nitrous into your intake with no fuel adder of any sort.

hahaha… fuck u whoever posted up top stay in ur own elemnt and we werent talking to you… and yes every nitrous manufactorer says it works fine on a stock motor… been doing it on every motor ive built for the lat 2 years… 5 different builds… and the people i sell them to still use em… proof enough… jesus…

and krazyteg im using Uberdata which has nitrous controls… i run a 13:1 a/f ratio with good timing… then when i go on bottle… guess what, retarded timing and added fuel… no problem whatsoever… so again, ur misinformed, if u knew about enging managment then u would know about uberdatas script options for nitrous, antilag for turbo cars, and fre datalogging, everything u need accept 3D maps… they only have 2D… to bad… so yes… u r still misinformed… and oh ya, go on honda-tech… how about u go choke on a dick… again uberdata isnt standalone and i have nitrous controls…

i wasn’t misinformed about shit. you are the one telling me nx dry kits(which don’t exist), nos dry kits, and zex dry kits don’t add any fuel. so stop trying to make arguments over shit. you kept saying you have dry nitrous, but wouldnt say what your setup was. you are in the same boat as me with a custom dry kit using ecu to add more fuel. you should have just said that from the start.

Hahaha this is dumb… i looked at this and laughed anyways, we shouldnt argue, im sorry bro. just pissed at those fools on Honda-Tech cause yes, u know the rep for honda-tech, love the site, hate the or some peeps… anyways, ya, on the danm ZEX kit i know they add fuel, and never knew they used the same technology on the NOS kit… shit thats crazy since ZEX claims to b the only ones… and since i built my own kit and shit i guess i wouldnt know for sure anyays… sux they dont make one since im sure they would sell more because some people just want the basics… and i dont know about u but wether it b direct port, single fogger or what but i like dry more and adding fuel at the injectors cause the weight of fuel say on a single fogger slows down to much flow for me… and have u seen the Wet entrance nozzles for direct port at the injector basin? cold fusion has the nozzles the injector sits in that then gets sprayed into the chamber under theinjector, kind of like an adapter… kinda cool i think…

i didn’t see cold fusion came out with that. i know nx has nxl, nos has noszle which are same technology. an injector spacer that adds nitrous. nx and nos run it like a wet system tho. venom runs their dry system where a controller adds more fuel thru the injectors. you crimp into the injector wires and it changes injector pulse similar to nitrous control we use.

hmm… thats cool… i think Venom is way way way over priced but last i checked it was like 1000 bux and up… but ya, i love my nitrous controls… not Venoms computer… blah! ya, like right now i am running a Injector duty cycle chart that uses fuel added when only on bottle… i think i have the injectors at 94.5% at WOT instead of stock which is like 84-86 i think… ill have to look at my charts…

whats your setup? all nitrous? what size injectors? how much nitrous?

as of right now exactly… LS B20B, BLOX IM, Type R TB, AN-R header (exact same as a bisimoto), B16 LSD SiR trans, Stock Box with K&N filter, test pipe, 2.35 exhaust, Apex N1 muffler… sounds alright…the kit is, Single Dry Fogger with a 90HP jetting, 15lb. bottle. warmer and such… on fuel a 255 intank pump and automatic DSMturbo injectors (390cc)… run good… only thing i have is the rings close on the 90 shot and i get blowby… but nothing incredable… last setup was a stock sleeve LSV and running 11.8:1 compression and a 120 shot… direct port on that bad boy…
