I have been boosting on my integra for over 4 months now. I just swapped the motor in and I change the manifold to an external wastgate. I got it runnin and it was fine at 9 psi. I noticed yesterday it was only hittin 7 psi or so. and today I noticed 6psi. I dont kno what happend… I checked the external wastgate which is a turbonetics. Its all fine. I check the vaccum lines and such. I dont kno what it could be. Usually I would hit full 9psi by 3800 now I barely hit 6 by 4500. Any ideas?
It shoots straight to 6 psi then creeps to 7 very slowly and doesnt go any higher. Any other ideas. I took off all the pipes and checked them thoroughly and there are no tears or rips. Everything is very tight. bov works fine… It not even getting enough boost to open the wastegate im pretty sure.
look for a boost leak. It could be from anywhere. The manifold,wastegate hole leaking into the dp on the 5 bolt flange. See if the intercooler is in good shape. How many miles is on the 14b??
check the color of your wastegate spring and make sure its a 9psi one? if you can, make a MBC and put it inline of the wastegate and see if that changes anything. Or you WG might be sticking too.
i put a boost controller on and it boosts to 9 lbs but it creeps there… its shoots up to 6 psi no problem then drags to 9 psi. What else could I possibly check
no oil in the pipes, turbo was rebuilt like not so long ago. I dont have access to another wastegate. I was running open dp already when this happened… I just got the downpipe done today and its still doin the same thing. I dunno wtf could have happend… I took apart the wastegate its all good no cracks or leaks to my knowledge waste gate is openin just a lot sooner then its set to. I had it set for the 9 psi spring and it was boosting 9 psi then as i was driving it just started boosting 7 barely. Im just totally lost… I gotta MBC on there now boosting 9 but it like shoots to 6 psi and crawls to 9 and like i mean crawls like from 3-3200 i get 6 psi instantly and it takes like 4300 to get 9 psi.
also is the wastegate not supposed to open till it reaches that set psi cuz i noticed sometime as like 3-4 psi it would already be open from what i can hear… if so what can i do to stop that. Like if i was only giving it like 40% throttle it would start to open and it wouldnt be at full boost. This was wit and without the MBC
head light fluid is good. All vaccums are tight and leak free… I triple check it all and maybe change the couplers see if it matters. Its a t3 header wit a adapter plate to 14b. Theres no leak I checked that over and over and when i had the dp done I had them check it too. if you can come up wit anything else that would be nice.
the spring is set for 7 psi and it only hits 5 witout the boost controller. I dont understand what the problem is. The wastegate isnt suppose to open until full boost correct? well it seems to me with the boost controller on the wastegate opens at 7 psi or so but it still boosts 9 in the end… just takes longer to get to… I dont kno what could have happened.
this is the only thing i can think of check all of your vacuum lines from the wastegate cuz i stopped boostin and all it was…was a little ass hole that started the whole thing completly and i was boostin like 9 lbs and i started to only boost like 2.5 throughout all my rpms
