Well here is my situation, I currently have a 92 gs and am in the process of turbo charging. I came across this turbo kit that was installed in a 90-91 integra, it also copmes with a tuned ecu. My question is do I convert my 92 obd1 to obd0 or chip my existing obd1 ecu? If I do end up changing to obd0 I know i need the 90-91 engine harness, however thats about as much as i can figure out. If someone can help with what parts to swap out it would be much appreciated. thank you
correct me if i’m wrong, but aren’t there a lot more tuning options for OBD1 over OBD0? from everything i have read, i was under the impression that OBD1 is a lot easier to use.
yes, however I already have a tuned obd0 ecu with the turbo kit, so rather then spending a crap load of money tuning an obd1 ecu I would just rather convert to obd0 if it is cheaper.
was the motor it was used on stock? 90-91 and 92-93 cams (i believe) are slightly different. that would affect the tune as well. i would stick with OBD1 if it were me. but that’s just me.
as far as converting, as far as i know, you will need the wiring harness and the distributer. i THINK the intake manifold, because i think the sensors are different. although, i could be completely wrong on that. and don’t the OBD0 motors have a resistor box for the injectors as well? other than that stuff, i’m not really sure. i’m no expert on it.
DO NOT convert over to OBD0. sell that ECU and get yours chipped. the best system you have is the 92+ OBD1. you’ll be happy in the end. converting over to OBD0 imo is not worth it. keep your obd1 ECu and get it chipped. trust me. not all engines are alike and that tuned ECU can ruin your engine. Don’t trust anyones tune but your own, or one catered to your engine only!!!
even if the ecu is chipped for that setup means absolutely nothing. its not going on the same engine. and converting to obd0 is the worst and stupidest thing you can do. install the setup and go get it tuned.
thanx for the info guys.
