Obd0 vtec boost.

This is not an assistance thread, I know, but it is in here because it needs to be.

If anyone is interested I wrote boost code for the obd0 vtec ecus. At this point the working code is in for the obd0 PR3 and the Euro Pw0 (X00). This code has been tested and is working. both files are running only the primary o2 sensor but must have the 2nd o2 plugged in if you dont want a code 2 (which will do nothing other than light up the cel, its not bad). It is like this so a wideband can be run into the 2ndary o2 input and afrs can be logged through BRE.

More information is in the readme file.

Please note that BRE is fairly spartan at this point. I have had little time for this stuff and what time I have goes into figuring stuff out (or trying  ) in the ecus themselves or into messing with the logging. Much more editor functionality is coming, just give me some time.

Wow…congrats Ben, you have been very persistant at this

I can’t get mine to open, it says…

C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\frameworkv1.1.4322\mscorwks.dll could not be loaded

???

do you have the .net framework? You need 1.1.

thanks xenocron. If people want proof, a guy just e-mailed some log files which I will post up when I get home.

Ben

Here are 2 logs. The guy is running low boost (5lbs?) so it is obviously not using all the columns but its using the extended ones nonetheless. He ran his innovate WB through the 2nd o2 input and BRE logged raw WB values. I added the afr calc in excel (simple formula). Sooooo this shows what cell the ecu is using, the afr in that cell, rpm, speed (raw), tps (raw), map (raw, >150 is boosting), final fuel and ignition values (raw), and some other shit I was using for debugging.

if you look and go “OMG, why do the afrs peak at 16.xxx?” its because the o2 inputs only see up to 3.85V, not the max of 5V.

Ben

o, no I dont have 1.1. I’ve read that bre is the best OBD0 tuning software available. I want to download bre, but the link through pgmfi.org does not work. Where can I get it?

the link above has the latest version of bre in it. When I get time I will add on a couple of features and release it at 2.1.

Ben

I’m bumping this. I have been getting no feedback on this stuff. So it either
a) works exceptionally well
b) no one is using it

Its got more features now such as ostrich support, auto tune (needs more testing!! works for me, but then again this stuff always does cause I wrote it), a log analyzer (low tech one, but it works well), corrections for different injectors and displacement, etc.

So use it, kiddies. I want more dyno sheets. More people using > 1.8 bar map sensors, more boost, etc. Maybe I should make a little contest to see who can make 400 whp first. Thats all i want to see. one guy made 324 whp on 13lbs and 300 whp on 10.8 lbs, but I have seen nothing over that.

If you use it EMAIL ME. I want to know how it worked, problems you had, etc.

BTW, that link at the top has the newest version always. I always upload the stuff to that file. You must read the testingREADME before using it, though.

Ben

Would this work on non-vtec? would i be better off converting to obd1 to use uberdata?

If you want a chip for an ls then talk to xenocron. But ill be using the program soon BEN. very soon.

But how do you tie the wideband into the sencondary o2???

Ill be using the AEM??

I use it on my b20. You just need to disable a few things like the vtec solenoid/VTP.

You run the 0-5v output from the wideband into the 2nd o2 input (and please unhook the 2nd o2 sensor if you have one).
