Oil coming out wastegate dump

Ok, so i boosted my stock ls motor and blew the headgasket, since i was kinda iffy on the motor i decided to scrap it. so i bought a mildly built bottom end and used a spare head i had bought a couple months back. well i had a friend of mines shop do the work and he calls me up when its done and says its over heating when you drive but cools down when idling, smokes speradicly and there is oil coming out of the wastegate dump. bottom end consists of srp 81.5mm 8.7:1cp pistons, eagle h beam rods,b16 oil pump, block guard, head is stock but it was sandblasted clean, and had valves reseated. turbo was new and barely had any miles on it on last motor since the headgasket blew while it was getting tuned and was a turbonetics t3.he said he is gonna look into the problems and see what he can find out but am i screwed? anybody have any ideas of what im in for?

only think i can think of is toasted rings

did u check the longblock out b4 u put it together???

as for the overheating get a lower thermostat, try that, it is a place to start

Our first thoughts were toasted rings, but then he messed with it and found out it was the turbo. put a stock header on and bam no more oil leaking or smoke, as for the overheating i was told it was the water pump. so imma put a new one on and put on a new oilpan gasket(has a slight leak) and search for a new turbo :-/

were you running an air filter on your turbo?

yeah i was
