What kind of oil filters are you guys using? Im using a FRAM mainly cause it doesnt slip when my hands get oil on them.
Don’t use anything but OEM.
You want a small pump in oil pressure, use one of the smaller RSX/new civic filters.

how much do these usually go for?
If I were you, I would investigate a bit further as to who makes the Honda Hamp filters in North America. I believe the Prelude sites suspect that it could be a Fram-made product. If you want to truly stay away from Fram products, I recommend:
- AC Delco
- Purolator
- K&N
- AMSOIL
- STP
- Bosch
- Mann
- Mobil

ok if you want to see for your elf, get a fram and an stp. cut them both open and you’ll see how crappy the fram looks. i use the stp because it’s usually cheaper than mobile one and some others, but it’s still really good quality
I use…
Just switched to the Mobil 1 M1-105 which is the oversized replacement for the M1-104 (ours). I found somebody that had 14 of 'em and I got all of them for $3.80 each! Felt like I just won the LOTTERY!

Dunno what the M1-101 is for, but call Champion Labs at 1-800-882-0890. They make the Mobil 1’s and many others and are a wealth of info.

You got me confused coz’ I thought you were claiming that Hamp is available here. Hamp maybe OEM for Honda in Japan, but as far as I know, Fram is OEM for Honda here in North America.

I have always used OEM filters. And I’m about to switch to the smaller RSX filter to how it affects oil pressure. I’ll keep you guys updated.

I’ve switched to the HONDA OEM RSX filter and there have been no leaks. I’ve driven about 2000 miles with it now.
Too bad I don’t have a oil pressure guage, the motor does seem smoother up top though.
Hold up ! What did I miss ?? So what does the RSX filter do for our oil pressure??
Could someone explain pls. Thanks !
It’s supposed to bump the pressure a bit.
I use OEM filters. I figure who knows better than the company that designed the motor? …it also comes with a cool-a$$ squash washer:D
so the RSX oil filter works on the G2?
Does it matter if it’s the type S or not?
Who has too much time on there hands and figured this out??
TIA
hey whats wrong with fram! i use it all the time, its cheap and u gotta replace it often anyways, maybe if your about to goto the track or something and want max efficiency then get a exspensive one.
If you wanted to boost oil pressure, couldn’t you just put a little extra oil in to have the same affect?
