first off Super Street kicked ass back then and still does today.
second, that car is nice and clean. its funny how that time period was before bulky body kits, big ass wings, and ugly vinyl graphics. and now 12yrs later clean and simple is what still makes a nice car (or DA)…

Very clean indeed. Marc from last I saw him worked at Longo Lexus and was looking to doing a IS.

that second DA i posted pu is not a gs-r. its an RS. they say its a 1.7 nonvtec… lol totally a typo.
both cars were around before anyone knew what JDM was. seeing that yellow DA in SSC was the first time i had ever seen such a pure, stripped down version of a DA and i had my heart set on it ever since.
the term JDM was coined by katman and johnathan wong from superstreet, and wasn’t really big until the early 00’s
about yellow DA’s, They always have a special place in my heart because if it weren’t for one of them, I prolly wouldn’t be as hardcore a DA fanatic as I am today.
that Kosuko one was nice at the top, but IMO SSC outdid them with this back in 96.
my inspiration… and favorite DA of all time
I shall say once again, the car that made me get a DA, and do it up the way I did.

katman was in the ffsquad, I remember when my bro got an EK and were browsing the FFsquad website…back in late 98…their honda’s were, should i say JDM mad tyte…now everybody is doing the JDM thing…:tapfing:
I agree wholeheartedly. One of the cleanest DA up to date. That 2nd yellow one from AZ
What DA have you ever seen with paint matched mud flaps? Shit son. If you didn’t have PIAAs and a Fuba in the mid 90’s, your opinion means nothing to me.

LMAO!!!
All I gotta say is WERD!
You’d love this article then
not only do they look wee-todd-id, but they chip and flake off easily.
kosuko cars back in the day were all pretty clean, this DA and RJ’s, and numerous other cars.
thats an AMS wing btw
and he most likely doesnt have 1 pic headlights because they’d cost close to $600 back then, and c’mon… according to the article he didnt have his mom and dad pay for his shit!!
Kosuku were kids back then in a true race dominated scene e.g., Sylmar, Gardena, Ontario etc… They weren’t fast e.g., SSR, Redline, Cyber or 8-ball etc… but what all them kids DID have were parents with deep pockets.
I can safely say that KOSOKU single-handedly made RICE mainstream thus spawned the wonderful accurate portrayal of the import scene then, The Rice and Ridiculous I & II featuring none other than mister RJ Devera himself.
don’t forget demonic speed, lucky, metro-speed, etc etc, some older than others…
but i agree on Kosoku and starting the rice trend… but hey thats why they were also so popular. everyone wanted to see supra tailights on an integ

Woah…woah…woah…

Just a little off topic to this thread, but since we are on some throw back G2s, does anyone have an article or some pictures of Ron Berginholtz DA from back-in-the-day (brother of Ed Berginholtz, first guy to put wheelie bars on a front wheel drive drag car back in '99)? That was a clean DA, if anyone my age can remember…Just curious.
…and JDMBeef24, that thing about JDM; “Just Dumb Man”, I gots to start using that on all these dumb @$$es around here in Texas that claim JDM when they dont EVEN know what they are talking about!
older pic, not the newest rendition
and cuz we’re onto this topic, here’s some more Kosoku love for ya’ll compliments of RJ
 13.8 with a built b17a and 80 shot nitrous, wow how times have changed!
RJs car…“goes off running!”
J.
Say, thanks viprtwo, I completely forgot about the black and chrome look Ron did, but didn’t he later paint the same DA midnight blue and put some 17" Racing Hart Type Cs on?

Actually, short of the HKS Powerflow, everything else you mentioned isn’t really old school in the scheme of things.
There are very few FWD cars that are “old school” or are from “back in the days”
My recollection of the time period are of, all clear tails, clear bumper lights, Pacesetter, GT Grant and even BF Goodrich Radial T/A in 225/50/14 (yes rocking tires with the white letters was old school!)
Or maybe I’m just too god damn old!
Which car are you referring to Breezer?
The 2nd car posted is a little to simple, sorta too plane. If that was the goal, then he scored!
The 1st car posted is more my style. I think he did the best that he could have done with what was available back then.
Oh, I was talking about the first one.

Ahhh you’re right dude! Lucky however was in the same tongue as Wicked. They we’re there, FAST but not OG OG. They came in the latter nineties. I remember almost buying a yellow CRX off of Peter from lucky just because it had a LS swap. I thought it was the sickest thing I had ever seen. I think they came around when swaps because popular.
Old school nonetheless. I’m so glad some people around her remember roots man.

Dayum man. You must be old then. LOL. I guess I’m talking about the time when Honda’s were golden. All we had then was Jackson racing, lightspeed and if you were gangster, a ported throttle body
All the Split Sec, Precision and Redline guys agreed this was when it was golden.
“Got Piaa 959’s?”
