guys ive searched but couldnt find anything if you can point me in the right direction. i was planning on running a 2.5-3 inch open downpipe of my turbo setup as my 2.25 crush bent exhaust is way to small and dont feel like dishing out more money again. how do these cars sound with an open downpipe. is it really raspy? LOUD? or just bad ass sounding? i havent heard one. any input is appreciated and sound clips are welcome! thanks alot guys!
i have open downpipe on mine sounds great but figure out if you will need some sort of backpresure for your size turbo, you might fel a little bit slower response but not much with no back presure but the sound is great
my open dp was loud as shit…it was uncomfortably loud but i fixed that by adding a 30$ cherry bomb and a section of 2.5" straight pipe!

well my turbo will be a t3 .42 .48 why would i need back pressure on the exhaust side?

Backpressure is ALWAYS bad. Everybody just uses the term wrong when trying to explain why you need “backpressure.” Regardless, I ran an open downpipe for around 2 months and didn’t like it. The only cool thing was being able to hear the exhaust wheel always spinning. I just thought the exhaust noise was too loud and didn’t sound good at all. I just recently made a 2.5" side exit with just a resonator and it sounds badass.

i had open dp on mine for a while…commercial diesel trucks didn’t have nothin on me! haha. i was sooooooo loud. plus exhaust fumes would seep into my cabin and i would get all dizzy after a while. get an exhaust.
