i wanted to know what people were doing with nitrous like
HP
wet,dry, direct
nos,Nx,zex
have you had any bad experiences?
what other mods do u have
and any other input from people with nitrous
personally ive put 2.5 10lb bottles though my 90 ls and it still runs strong i have CAI cat back exaust and custom ram air. the car has 167000 miles and still runs awesome. i want to go ls/vtec and nitrous any opinion on that? i am running 50 hp im gonna put in 75hp this weekend then retard the timing alittle more im addicted to it
what power do u want to make, how much do u have to spend?
i used to have turbo and i dont like the full time disadvantages of turbo (lower gas milage)
I am thinkin of getin a zex. For a stock block Zex is the best.
Get a zex wet kit.
you realize the zex wet kit is the same as nx, nos, and cold fusion right? the only differance is the zex kit comes in a little aluminum box, so they charge more money. the zex dry kit atleast has built in tps switch so that nitrous is only enabled over a certain throttle angle, so it is worth a couple extra $$$.
right now i own an nos dry kit, a zex dry kit, a zex wet kit and an nx 6 cyl direct port kit. i have a zex wet kit on my beater jetted at 50hp, and i am redoing the nitrous on my 2000 integra to dry direct port system where my aem ems adds the fuel for me. i am going to keep pretty much my entire nx kit but remove the fuel solenoid and change the nozzles to cold fusion. i haven’t had a problem with anything really except my nos dry kit had a sticky solenoid. it isn’t really nos’s fault tho, it was an older kit. dry nitrous kits aren’t worth your time tho. wet kits are good for up to around 200hp. if you plan on spraying over 125 shot from the start and don’t need to hide the nitrous, buy a direct port kit.
before raising your jetting i would consider buying an msd digital retard box so you can retard your timing only when you are actually spraying, this will make it where you can advance your base timing before the nitrous and when you spray the msx box will make up for the advanced timing and retard it for the nitrous. when you build your ls/v make sure you rebuilt the block too, don’t just throw a head on your stock ls.
im running a nos wet kit and i really like it it wasn’t that bad of an install.
for the ls/v i was planing a full rebuilt with type-r pistons
what do u use to turn the nitrous on?
I’m assuming he uses the TPS to turn it on.
At a certain throttle angle, the nitrous gets fed to the engine.
correct me if i’m wrong

i know about all that i just wanted to know what switch you use after the wot switch like a push or a on/off switch or a rpm switch
i use nitrous alot and know what im doing im just asking to compare and for others reference
nope, i actually have a switch and a button. if the switch is left and i press the button it opens the purge. if the the switch is right and i press the button it sprays into the motor. i definately suggest the zex or nx tps switch, over an rpm switch. wot micro switches i don’t like at all, but i know some people who say they perfer them.
for my project car i run an aem ems which allows me to set parameters for the nitrous on a laptop. when i goto the track i will disable my a/c and use that input for nitrous. so when i want to spray i just press my a/c button, and as long i am over 75% throttle and over 14 psi it sprays. then it automatically shuts off 200 rpm before redline.
