opinions on my turbo setup........

ok heres the deal, i have $3000 right now to build my ls motor, im thinkin custom wiseco pistons, eagle rods, im still undecided on sleeving, if i sleeve its gonna set me back at least another month, or i could just run a block guard, because i only plan on running 8-10 psi daily, and the head will consist of a skunk 2 itm, skunk 2 cam gears, aem fuel rail, bm fpr, rc320cc injectors, a walbro 255 fuel pump and hondata s200b for tuning, with a maxrev turbo kit, so i guess what i wanna know is would you just go ahead and throw that setup in there, or should i save for another month if not more and go for sleeving, which im sure most people are gonna say to do that, but i could have the motor and turbo in the car in the next month as opposed to waiting for the motor to be sleeved and saving more money ect… i dont plan on keeping the car for too long, plus i want it to be reliable, and i just want somethin fun to drive until i get a new car, and plus i said when i got my g2 i wasnt gonna go crazy and try to make it the fastest car on the road like i did with my last car hahaha, so any opinions on the setup or what i should do would be great thanks guys…mike

im running 17lbs at the track on stock sleeves for a long time now, i have 9:1 JEs and eagle rods

long as you dont get detnation, get good tuning and your gold

i say get atleast 440cc injectors if it isnt too late

i also have a AEM EMS stand alone too, i was in the same dilemma, good tuning and race gas at high psi and your good

10 psi max daily wit good tuning, id say A-OK, cuz thats my current setup:p

ok that sounds good, anyone else??? i still can get bigger injectors so i guess ill go ahead and do that, i havent even started building the motor yet, i just want to get opinions now before i go spend alot of money if i dont have to for what i want…mike

RC offers the 550cc injectors in saturated now. Might as well get those if you are going hondata. Stock sleeves will probably be fine for you. I would forget about the blockguard or sleeving.

well i decided to go ahead and send the block to ge for sleeving, once it comes back it will get fitted with custom wisecos and eagle rods, along with all the other stuff i have, i still have some things to get but ill keep everyone updated on my project g2 turbo…

just got my max rev turbo kit in the mail today!!! minus the intercooler becaust it is on back order, but everything else is there, now all i need is a motor to put it on, which is gonna take the longest to accomplish, but it will be well worth it in the end…

got my intercooler today finally, also picked up a greddy boost guage and a clutchmasters stage 3 clutch, and a turbo xs rfl blow off valve, so now i have everything that im gonna need, the block has returned from ge with the sleeves, and its being put together now, should be done by the end of the month/ early september, will keep everyone updated and will have pics soon…mike

thats funny, i barely seen this post, and you barely send your block to ge and its back already? they must some seriously fast workers and delivery guys huh?

imo, i would piece together a kit if i had my motor built.

yea it took about a month for the block to be sleeved, and if the kit doesnt work out then ill sell somethings off and replace them with something else, no big deal, i think i should be fine im gonna be running 10lbs on a daily basis…

well the block is back and the pistons just came in, i just got my reciept for everything that is being done, and how much i still owe before it will be put in my car, and its alot haha, $2400 to be exact, but my block will consist of golden eagle goldzilla sleeves, 84.5mm custom endyn pistons, eagle h-beam rods, blueprint and balance and clean in the hot tank, the head will now have a 5 angle valve job along with the skunk 2 itm and cam gears, aem fuel rail and bm fpr, head will also be cleaned and flushed with new valve seals, all valve clearances will be adjusted to race specs, walbro fuel pump and 720cc injectors with hondata s200b, my greddy guages and turbo timer were put in yesterday so that is out of the way, i will get some pics up when the motor is together which will hopefully be soon…mike

nah i havent put the intercooler on yet, my car goes in the shop the first week in november, ill let you know how it fits after i get it back, ill have some pics…
