Sup guys I have a 93 ls turbo that was gettin tuned this weekend and they got to about 5,000rpm and it started overheating. They was sayin it was the headgaske but when i filled the overflow and put alittle into the rad and it was fine. I was driving the car after that for about 5-10 miles and it didnt overheat or anything i poped the hood didnt see anything leaking it looked fine to me. I just dont wanna take it all apart if i dont have to. Any help would be great that.:bowthank:
you said you had to put in coolant? why were you low? you might have a leak from one of the coolant lines? mabye thermostat?
Did you check for air in the whole cooling system? Easy way to purge: Put car on jackstands, take rad cap off, turn on engine, let it idle for about five minutes. Also consider opening the water neck piece where the top radiator hose goes into the cylinder head while doing this until nothing but coolant comes out.
That don’t work, you got a lifting head. Time for some ARP headstuds and new headgasket.
bad cooling at the tuning place? did they have fans on and is ur rad fan kicking in?
I was alittle low on coolant because it was my lower rad hose. So i will see tonite if i have any air in it and check out a few other things and if that doesnt work ill have to do a leak down test.:horny:
