ok i have a civic dual core half radiator a 12" fan in the engine bay pulling and a 10" fam in the front pushing, the block has been sleeved by golden eagle dont know if that has anything to do with it, but i cant stop over heating not al the way in red but the temp gauge reads 220-240 using auto meter, i also have bled the system and used the thermostat hole trick, the only other thing i can think is that my downpipe needs to be run different, i have the down pipe dumpping straight to the ground under oil pan any help would be apreciated as to what i can do to bring the temps down.
do you have pics of your set-up thus far? that would help out alot.
have you checked your radiator cap, head gasket, just trying to name a few.
turbo draws alot of heat, and the use of TBC helps out alot to keep unwanted temps out.
what is tbc sorry for souding dumb
Thermal Barrier Coating. you can get that here or here.
I personally use Olympic coatings on my manifold, turbo and wastegate along with dump tube, and my under hood temps have gone down alot.
ok i got into the car today drove for about 5 miles the temp only got up to about 210 but the overflow tank was starting to fill with antifreeze do yotu think i need a new radiator cap and if so who has a high presure one thnaks
hey smikeintegra how much did they charge you to coat your manifold?
Is your overflow catch can full? Do you have to put water in the radiator frequently? If so it sounds to me like a blown headgasket.
Also, if I were you I’d move the 12" fan around to the front and ditch the 10". One fan pushing and the other pulling, both of them different sizes, is going to create air flow problems.
We really need to see pics to give any more adivice.
Also need check HPC for coatings.
I paid $180 for everything and it comes with a 3 year warranty. lifetime if the item is brand new. that’s the manifold, turbo, wastegate, dump tube, and elbow for wastegate.
