I was wondering how I should run my pcv setup, I have presented the idea that is in the turbo guide on the close loop setup and it cause quite a stink, apparently cause the pressure that is put into the valve cover. I was considering just open loop with a breather on the valve cover but I wasnt sure on the reliablity of this. there were a few other methods besides the turbo guide located here http://www.honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1199935&page=1
so please voice your opinions and setups so I could get an idea, and fuck those cocky honda-tech bastards, at least i know my fellow g2icers will help me, not critisize me
I put a filter on my valve cover and called it a day. I’ve read about how bad this is but it works just fine for me. I’ll cry about it when it breaks.
There are 100’s of ways to do this. I did it the simplest/easiest way to do it and it works.
Run a hose from valve cover breather and point it at the ground.
Take the orignal PCV hose off the oil/air seperator box off the back of teh block. then run an elbow off that box and ru that hose to teh gronud as well. now both the PCV box and calve cover are straight venting it to atmosphere out ot eh engine bay. that’s it. it’s worked fine for me fora long time.
So you aren’t using the PCV valve at all right? I did the same with my car and alot of people made fun of it, but it seems to be working fine for me.
That is correct. no PCV. a PCV is useless. PCV is for emissions. who cares haha.
don’t post that, people will take u seriously. no pcv = blow by.
Prove to me that no PCV = blowby. Not meaning to sound harsh, just from what I’ve researched over the years and trying multiple setups. I found my setup has worked the best next to endyne’s style/vacuum pump. My next setup will be the crankcase plug ventilation, but for what I have done, provides me with adequte block pressure ventilation.
whatever works for you, man. not something i’m going to try.
Well I’m jsut saying I am right that you don’t need the PCV “valve” which is what he asked about. When I referred to that for running open loop system.
well i dont plan to use a pcv valve persay, I was going to hollow one out so i can keep its stock location, and then run a hose from there to a catch can and then from the catch can to the pre turbo intake, with a breather on the valve cover, i live in SC so we dont have emissions, but i still want to be good to the envioroment if i can
