Photo Thread V 23.2.5.453126.1

photoged for my roommate’s gf’s b-day dinner. I was DD so i was able to drive my other roommate’s Subie Legacy Spec B. my gosh the gears are long in that car…longer than my LS transmission.

these were taken with a DIY internal flash bounce made from a business card. Turned out pretty well IMO. next to buy is 580exII.

Everytime I see photos like this I tend to hover the mouse over the faces to see if names will pop up. Damn facebook…

wow, that flash bounce worked great. I really thought you were using an external. Got a pic of the bounce?

I’m pretty sure it’s something like this:

I’ve used the mirror trick but didn’t quite work for me. But I’m getting the 430 soon.

i dont have it with me atm–i’m at work.

but it was basically a UCI library print card that i made little cuts in to fit into the guide “rails” for the pop up internal flash. lol i can get pics of it when i get back home. i did get a few WTF looks at the restaurant though. but, the results don’t lie.

edit: some of them i feel are underexposed or towards the dark side. I had to up the exposure 1/2 stop on some and do a little burning in post processing. But other than that it wasn’t too bad.

Yeah, but with an even light you can fix that easily in PS. The uneven light you get from a non-bounced flash is a pain in the ass to deal with. plus all the forehead glares and what not.

Babak, thanks for the link. I did a quick test with that and it worked great. Of course now that I’m picking up a 480EXII in a couple weeks I learn that trick.

ah yes i was trying to find that site. but basically that’s what i did.

you mean the 430 (or 20) right? Or did canon ever make a 480?

my particular implementation.

one thing i like about having a plastic card instead is that its stiffer than a piece of paper, and the angle is adjustable if need be.

Yeah, I meant 430. :giggle:

Looks like theDude’s been getting a few drinks at the skyy bar.

I’m too old to go in there, I walked past the line one day after work and the bouncer looked at me and laughed.

i have the 430 and i love it. ill probably add a 580ex2 soon just because of the extra power and ability to be a master to my slave 430. i have a stofen omnibounce and it works great.

The 430 is perfect as a first purchase. I’m ganna wait at least a year before getting the 580 and I’m using the money I’m saving to complete my wireless setup.

Just playing around w/ my new lighting equipment.

These were all actually unedited straight from the camera

very nice.

What lighting equipment did you go with? Make and model please!

Howdy Sir Vern. Haven’t seen you around much.

Sorry

Hey Preston I had some questions about linkages if you could please email me at g_squared05@yahoo.com or if you could give me yours.

Thanks.

Sorry for interrupting the conversation and very nice looking photos
