I need to make a trip to Alaska. That is beautiful, cold, but beautiful. how’s the dog? we are planning on getting one before long. I want a black and tan, treeing walker, or redbone coonhound. unfortunately those breeds aren’t as readily available as other more common breeds. The closest i’ve found is a 2 year old treeing walker about 130 miles away at a shelter. We would like a puppy though.
wow… James your good…
Oh and Tegloving

yes it does, thank you. how do you ship a dog without risking death? the only downside to pure breeds is they are expensive.
Thanks all.
Dozer is doing good. He’s gaining weight and growing fast. He’s probably put on 15-20lbs since we got him about 4 weeks ago.

Nope, the good ole $80 Canon 50mm f/1.8 II
They fly them on an airplane. I thought we were going to have to do that; I still can’t believe we found a Mastiff breeder so close.
No problem… Yea, they get shipped on airplanes.
Yea… I looked up the prices of the dogs you want, and they are double what i paid for my pure bred basset hound… But there’s far more breeders for basset’s then there are treeing walker or a redbone coonhound… Personally i never heard of those 2 breeds until you brought it up.
At that price i may wait and see what shows up at the shelter. I know I want something that is going to be good for hunting, and good around the kids, and I like everything i have been reading about those breeds.
what about a bloodhound? My bro-in-law had one and even though it was never around kids it LOVED ours when we visited.
Those are a possibility also, still expensive though.
My baby girl, 6 months old already
very cute! and great picture.
My mimi!
Went on a little hike yesterday
Looks cold but “pretty”
nah, it’s only in the 30’s most of the time, not too bad.
I dunno whether I’d be laughing or scared…
…no wait… i do… :giggle:
Wow, Alaska is a beautiful place. I like your pics a lot.
Thanks. Summer is when the real beauty comes out. Can’t wait!

one thing i like about having a plastic card instead is that its stiffer than a piece of paper, and the angle is adjustable if need be.[/QUOTE]
Never heard of that idea until I saw your post. Been playing with it ever since. The lighting in my living room is horrible so always had a problem with blurry or over saturated non-flash pics or flash bright pics.
Tonight I used an old Scrabble scorecard

I’ve been playing with my D40 a lot lately, finding out just how fun photography is.
I took this one down at the old barracks here in town yesterday:
