You should look into getting an external flash, the difference is amazing. Check out the “photography gear” thread for my review on the lightsphere, it shows a good comparison between the on camera flash and an external.
The card trick works ok, but it always under exposes the picture. With an external you can compensate for a bounce.
One thing I’ve done… my stepdad gave me his old flash from his 35mm. It fits the hot seat on my camera fine, but what I like to do is long exposures in a pure dark (or close to it) setting and use the flash hand held.
That’s how I got this (the flash was in a double ziplock bag since there was water involved).
I can see how one would be inspired to be a photographer out there, thats for sure.

I’m really loving my $230 zoom lens.
Got my 70-200mm f/2.8L in yesterday. I can’t wait until my off days so I can put it to use.

interesting. I wonder why they would block smugmug. Even I can see them from work, and the .gov blocks everything worth seeing. (or maybe they aren’t worth seeing) :giggle:
Here at my work Flickr and Smugmug are blocked becuase they supposedly fall under the category of “Social networking and personal sites.”
Imageshack and Photobucket work, though.
We have access to pretty much anything you can imagine (being a videogame/fun company) so it makes no sense.
