interesting, what internals do you have to use? seems like you’d have to do some trimming on the bottom of the sleeve to get the rods to clear. what is the motor being built for?
they won’t say who or what car the motor is for. I’m guessing it’s probably someone definitely down there in times.
as far as the internals, it’s a custom job…but then, if you’re serious enough to actually use a deckplate for an advantage, you’re most likely either REALLY rich or sponsored. so custom internals prolly aren’t a problem. ![]()
they didn’t have the block cleaned because it has a New York state sticker on it that they were afraid would come off during the cleaning, and they need to keep the sticker on there.

I’ve been thinking of using a deck plate for my next turbo B18A. I’m thinking along the lines of a deck plate with a stroker kit and a CR around 10:1 It would be sleeved and bored. Hope to end up with a displacement of over 2.2 liters ![]()
can someone please tell me the advantages of this. only thing i can see is maybe more room to stroke???

Ya…I thought about that…maybe without the hood supports it would fit? Or maybe some custom mounts to lower the engine in the bay?

A better rod/stroke ratio gives less sidewall stress. Allowing for higher rpms
