Im looking to see what other people have used to do retrofits please post what you used and what you did to get it working how it looks.
Hmm… for me I just used the H4’s and bent the bracket to fit the H4’s. Also i cut off the little peices that hold the h4h’s in place so I can fully insert the H4’s in.
Output is nice, I can see and all. But has no cut-off line. =[
But its ok, therefore I dont need highbeams… lol
heres an old picture of my 8000k’s. right now I have 6000k, i traded my 12000k for them.

^ is that the ebay 1 peice housing with jdm cover? or is it the jdm one peices but blacked out on the inside??
one peices with the inner parts painted black. i think kuppa wants retrofits not just hid’s, but here is mine nonetheless
6000k h4h, awesome light output, and i have them aimed properly so i rarely get flashed for them being to bright
tsx retro…
Infiniti FX 35/45 w/6000K HIDs…Light output could be better. Here’s my write-up: http://www.g2ic.com/forums/showthread.php?t=168052&highlight=clearcoat+headlights
You need to get rid of the flutes in your lens then light output would rock i have seen comparisons
do you mean projector retrofits or HID’s in the 1-pc. headlights?
-Karlo
he is after projector retro’s.
Just HID isnt a retrofit using projectors is what im after
How do your high beams work with the projectors? I was thinking about this for my DD which also uses a single bulb.
if you want highs you will need to get BI xenon projectors and relays
Thanks, going to look into that more now. Might need an extra set of headlights to play with just incase.
I’ve been waiting for a thread like this to post these pics of a DA owner from H-T and I’m sure who is on here as well. I’ve forgotten who the owner is but this is what he had done, and such a clean job. I’m going to do this I think when I find a way to get a 2nd pair of JDM headlights. What makes this DIY so good is that he even did a write up, yup lost that, too. but showed step by step on what to do. and what really makes the HID’s do their job, is by sanding and removing the inner ribs of the lenses so that you have a clear area for the light beam to shine through.
Wow that last one looks fantastic.
Here are some pictures of the retrofit I did with A6 projectors in he ebay clear one pieces and a 5000k D2S kit. The picture quality sucks since I only have my phone.

He definetly was a member on these boards, I forgot his username. He had that car for sale here and on H-T. The light output does come out better with the flutes being sanded down but I’ll tell you from first hand experience, it’s a bitch to do. I started but never finished on a 2nd pair of JDM one pieces. Supposedly, it must all be done by hand to prevent the plastic from melting or cracking. It’s worth it in the end and I’ll get to finishing it eventually.
Kuppa - I noticed you’re very interested in the whole retrofitting process. I would suggest doing some research at the hidplanet.com forums, if you haven’t already done so. I never came across anybody who did the retro on our JDM one pieces over there, but you can get an idea of how the retrofits are done.
Yeah there are a couple of members that sanded down the flutes in the 1pcs and it seems to be a bitch of a time but very much worth it in the end.
I kinda put my retrofitting of the 1pcs on the back burner but if I was to do it again… I would go with the ebay ones instead since they are the clear lens although the 1pcs look more badass!
Likewise here, I currently have three retrofit projects on hold including a new set up for my DA that I have been planning.:werd:
Haha fo sho… and the retrofitting is with the FX projectors you sold me ages back LOL :uhoh:
