PIC request HID retrofit

I have been doing research thats also why i started this thread to get some ideas and see what others have done before i dive in i like to get my feet wet.

Yeah I’m the same way in that aspect. I was just trying to point you toward that site in case you didn’t know about it, but I guess you did.

heres a retrofit writeup on a 5th gen prelude forum that i used to be a member on when i had my lude. same concept, different headlight. HTH…

I’ve seen his other retrofits and they look good! I think he’s got fx35’s in his now. I’ve always liked those prelude headlights. I like everything about that gen except for its turning radius lol!

Has anyone just used aftermarket foglight housings? there are some out there that have black metal housing with the concave lens. Is it the fact that you need to adjust the light angle???

In for this. A PnP HID was the worse thing I ever did to my Teg.

I’d like to do both my fogs and low/highs with a nice retro fit.

heres mine i did about a year ago with tl housing hids. and really puting an HID kit in stock housings is not a retro fit!

only thing i think is bad about doing just a single projector in the g2 headlights is the stock headlight area is too wide, it needs like projector to the outside, and a bright between it and the fog, like the itr headlights…

anyway good luck with your project, i think all of these look great, very clean

Are there anymore?

any body use 3" projectors

when doing retrofiting do you guys connected the projector to a harness? ive seen some pics where some projectors have wires from the back. i was just wondering if i install the projector and run the ballast to the bulb is that all that its needed?

This is the exact thing I was looking to do. I am in the air if I want to mess with the JDM lens or get the ebay lights.

Has anyone else who is still on here tried to sand the lens on the JDM lens and how difficult was it?

I almost am afraid of messing up a good thing if you know what I mean…

It will take some work and a die grinder with some sanding/scotchbrite disks and some cut compound plus polish after that look around i know there is some info on this here and other places. hope that helps

I would like some more info on this what projector, what high beam, how did you get them in there maybe some pics of the work would be sweet too.

its a BMW e46 bi-xenon projector and high beam. and i would not recommend taking on a task like this unless you are really comfortable with fiberglass and fabrication cause it is very complicated to get them aimed and fitted correctly.
i didnt take any pics from making them but i can tell you it was about 40hrs worth of work, i had to notch the core support, extend the back of the headlight housing to fit it all and make a system to aim the beam up,down, left, right.
