Looks good:rockon: Any night pics at all?
its a BMW e46 bi-xenon projector and high beam. and i would not recommend taking on a task like this unless you are really comfortable with fiberglass and fabrication cause it is very complicated to get them aimed and fitted correctly.
i didnt take any pics from making them but i can tell you it was about 40hrs worth of work, i had to notch the core support, extend the back of the headlight housing to fit it all and make a system to aim the beam up,down, left, right.
OH snap thats alot more work then i want/can put in to my retro i plan on getting mine done in one weekend. That is if thing go my way
I must say that is one hell of a retrofit. Nice work. I hope to complete a single projector retrofit at some point that looks half that nice.
thanks i put a lot of hard work into them and everyone at my work was saying that it was way more work than its worth but i love the look of them.
here is an ouput shot of my projector right now just waiting for the other one and need to order shrouds
Mine done
Beam pattern shots please.
how much did you get those shrouds for? where?
Kuppa - very nice retrofit! Looks pretty good in those ebay lights. What projectors did you use and also what shrouds?
One more thing… what car did that lip come out of? Thanks
Damn!! You did a great job on your retrofit. I’d really l’d be really interested to see some night shots. The shrouds pulled the headlight housing together well plus it’s 10 times better than my retrofit(no shroud ). How in the world did you get shrouds to fit in such a virgin vagina tight spot? Lol and what shrouds are those?
$55 and retrofit source

Lots of trimming and testing they barely fit I also made some filler pieces for the sides
Check out my build thread for more
how much would i need to get this done and how much would it cost to send them to you? lol
Denso ballasts can be had for $100
shrouds are $55
projectors $100-150
clear lenses $30-90
aluminum for custom shields and filler pieces $4
Ebay headlinghts(spring lights) around $150
bulbs $30-50
Miscellaneous $50 give or take
so like 584 is a middle ground for the parts ball park figure. It seems like alot but if you get a little here and there it wont be so bad. Now bare in mind i didnt spend anywhere near that on mine i got bulbs and ballasts for free(i know people at a body shop/got lucky. I also got one projector for free too since we work for a lexus dealership. I have some ballasts and a couple of bulbs i could sell you if interested.
Kuppa - any pic of the back of the headlights install ? did you have any clearance problem with the driver side headlight ?
just got my retro fit parts in. Kuppa you having any aiming issues? How did you aim? test fit on the car? off a table?
^What kind of projectors, bulbs, and ballasts will you be using?
- 1x Pair: OEM Infiniti FX35 bi-xenon projectors
- 1x Pair: FX-R clear lens upgrade
- 1x Pair: Morimoto 35w digital HID ballasts w/ brackets
- 1x Pair: Morimoto 35w D2S bulbs 6000K
All from the retrofit source. I am hoping to do it in a weekend. Can’t find a shroud I like yet so I guess i will wait Or I will simply cut some plexi to fit and paint. Not sure entirely sure yet. I like how kuppa made the small aluminum plate.
The retrofit source has good stuff at reasonable prices. I just got my FX-r lenses from them this morning. That parts list looks pretty good. I personally like the 4300-5000 temperature range more than the 6000 but that just comes down to personal preference. Post up pics of the work and the completed process. People can use it as a guide for there own retrofit later on.
So pretty much as soon as I got my clear lenses I had to try them out. So here are the output pictures from about 15 ft. Clearly FX-R > fresnel
